Title: Movie Night
Fandom: Stargate: Atlantis

Rating & Warnings: S for Squeaky
Word Count: 550+
Genre: Friendship, Humor with a side of crack, AU (I guess)
Summary: Carson still wasn't sure how he got suckered into accompanying Teyla to the midnight premiere of New Moon.
Author's Notes: Written for my Scottish princess, azure_horizon.  She wanted some with Teyla and Carson friendship, set before the events in Sunday.  Er, so for the purposes of this story either A.) Season 3 actually took place in 2009 or B.) Sunday never happened.  Slightly cracky, so don't say I didn't warn you.

"I didn't realize you wanted me to do that when I agreed to come with you," Carson said, suspiciously eying the shirt Teyla held out for him to wear.

"It is important that people know what side we support. John says it is common for people to wear shirts in the same colors that their team wears," replied Teyla as she pushed the garment forward.

"Aye, that's true. But this is a movie not a sporting event." He made no move to take the shirt.

She rose her eyebrow. "Are you saying you will not wear it? I even had Rodney help me order it from eBay. He paid for it himself."

"Cheeky bugger," muttered Carson.

Teyla continued, "John seemed to think that you would appreciate it as well. He seemed quite sure of himself when I showed him the shirt."

When Teyla had approached him two months ago to ask him to accompany her to the midnight showing of New Moon, he never thought that he would have to do anything other than buy a tub of popcorn and listen to Teyla rave about the story she had unexpectedly adored.

He frowned as he thought of possible ideas for payback.  Clearly Rodney and John wanted to make sure he suffered for his agreement.  "Speaking of the colonel, why didn't he take you?" Carson asked.

"He is jealous of Robert Patterson's hair," she replied seriously. She lowered her voice. "One time when he walked me to my quarters, he wouldn't even look at the poster I have on my wall."

"I believe it." John's obsession with his hair was well-known. "And what about Rodney? If he seemed so eager to buy that," he nodded towards the shirt, "then he should have wanted to come."

Teyla shook her head. "He said he refuses to watch a movie where the vampires sparkle, though he did ask me to take a picture of you wearing the shirt."

Carson blanched. That was not going to happen!  “Teyla, I’m not really...comfortable wearing that,” he admitted, giving her a sympathetic look. “You understand, right?”

“Oh, come on,” said a female voice from behind them. “It’s pretty clear that your girlfriend went to a lot of trouble to get that for you.”

Teyla turned towards to woman who was with her two friends, shaking her head slightly. “You are mistaken. Carson is merely accompanying me so I would not have to go to the premiere alone, but he is not my boyfriend.”

And for that, Carson was grateful. The woman who spoke to them was quite stunning and, if the lack of a male companion was any indication, quite single.

If it would impress their new companion to wear the shirt, then he would do so. Maybe he could even convince her to sit next to him during the movie. With a swift motion, he grabbed the white shirt and yanked it over his head. As he pulled the garment over the length of his body the big, bold proclamation of “TEAM EDWARD” was impossible to miss.

Teyla gave him a wide smile. The other woman, however, looked slightly distressed.

Not wanting to miss his opportunity, Carson asked, “When the threatre starts to seat the people, would you like to join us?” The woman looked back at her companions who were shaking their heads emphatically.

“I’m sorry, but...” She unzipped her jacket and revealed a “TEAM JACOB” shirt. “...fangirls have standards.”
