So, to stave off shear boredom I sometimes try to write a bit of fanfic of my own. They don't really seems to be going anywhere and it is frustrating! I have ( Read more... )

Hey,
I'm glad all has been well with you. I on another note, I don't remember seeing your post of books to read and I'm utterly fascinated by your pirate books do you know if they are available in E-Book format of some kind?

Hi there!

I don't think it is available as an e-book anywhere, though there are 2 sample chapters at the webpage : http://www.alienperspective.com/ The second one (chapter 7) is a better example of what the whole book is like than the first (chapter 1).

The best part is that volume 2 is coming out in just a few weeks...!!! Yay!

If I ordered a print copy (making lots of work for me to be able to read it) would the cover distress religious folk? That would be my concern.

That's a tough call. The front cover is totally harmless, just a reprint of 19th century painting of a galleon with a small boat of buccaneers sailing towards it.

The back cover does mention that the main character finds love with another buccaneer...here is a reprint so you know exactly what it says :

1667

Romance in the West Indies

Wherein,
the Viscount of Marsdale, duelist, libertine,
dilettante, and haphazard phianthropist, travels to
the colony of Jamaica to establish a sugar plantation
for his estranged father.

Once There,
he finds he has much in common with the buccaneers
of Port Royal. Thus he joins them and learns of the
strange traditions, tactics, and customs of the
Brethren of the Coast

Falling in Love,
he partners with Gaston, the mysterious French
madman known as the Ghoul, and discovers
another as noble, disenfranchised,
and scarred as himself.

Together,
they explore an end to loneliness,
and seek to exorcise the demons
of their pasts, in a wilderness
torn by war and ambition.

Hope that helps!
