I really liked Ben as a character, and would have very much liked to have seen his story fleshed out a bit more. I was particularly interested in the ending scene of Pollo Loco, and how very much childish and scared he sounded, as contrasted with the hard-edged serial killer persona he'd earlier expressed. I'm inclined to think he probably wouldn't have snapped had he stayed at Manticore, where his environment would have been at the very least, more confined and reduced.

But either way, I would have very much loved a third season of Dark Angel and any return of Ben in any form.

The end scene is very strange, because he flips his switch like that. He tries to recreate Manticore for himself (the writing on the walls, the ritualistic killings mirroring his training), and then when he's cornered, he realizes that he doesn't want to go back. He knew it was wrong and yet he did it all just to feel some sense of structure, of the only home he knew. But a part of him still recognizes Manticore as the big bad, and he doesn't want to be their soldier anymore. Max is the one who figures out he can't bring himself to commit suicide, so he "kills" himself by making his victims him (with the barcode)

(Ben should have totally come back and walked around Term City, getting mistaken for Alec and causing humorous and murderous consequences, hee!)
