Back up to the PICU today. Lizzy is intubated but she is comfortable... unhappy that she can't talk, but she's just on room air and not requiring any additional oxygen. She was a lot more responsive today than she was on Thursday, raising her eyebrows for "yes" and shaking her head for "no," and requiring a lot fewer suctionings and treatments. ( Read more... ) -

I woke up to find a post on Facebook from my sweet friend Lizzy's grandmother, asking for prayers for Lizzy. Last night Lizzy "plugged" and they almost lost her.

I've had such a rough winter with sinus infections. The first one hit me in early December, which prompted the first round of antibiotics. Nothing got better and during the four-day camp session I was put on the next round of antibiotics. The doctors at the Reedsburg ER were concerned enough to put me on 21 days of the antibiotics ( Read more... )
