We're moving offices this weekend.
After we packed up our desks, my boss said he'd take us out for a few drinks if we all helped put a few extra bits of stock into the moving van.
A few extra bits soon turned out to mean half the stock room, and we didn't actually hit the pub until about 8.

We all have to turn up at 9:30am tomorrow (freakin' SATURDAY

I don't blame you! I just went through that rigamarole myself at work. I packed and unpacked 50 crates including 30 for the filing system, 15 fot the bosses (and my assistant, who panicked, as she often does) plus my own stuff. I also organised the move, assisted with the actual physical removals and then tested the IT equipment after the relocation. Drink? What drink? We didn't get that chance...

Ouch. If I could I would buy you one myself just for your trouble. I hope your bosses at least acknowedged the work you did.

Yeah, they paid my time. But I still don't have a regular payrise, which is a niggle as there are other organisations around who pay more for the same level of work.

Looks good on my CV, mind, almost get to call myself office manager now...

While being tied to the couch is ENTIRELY preferable to working (preferable to most things, actually), I didn't get much of a choice. XD

My boss was OK though, he kept telling me not to lift things and making me go do other things, so it's not so bad today.
