I decided I was going to picspam some Party Animals and so I'm starting with episode one. This is more an Andrew Buchan, Shelley Conn and Matt Smith spam but whatever.
I watched it when it first aired and positively died of joy with the cast and then the politics and was subsequently gutted when it wasn't recommissioned.
I think that about Pip too, it frustrates me but I reckon he's just got similar mannerisms to someone out there. Kirsty was always the character I found hardest to sympathise with but on my last couple of rewatches I've started to find more I can empathise with.
I can never work out why Kirsty is there, she doesn't seem to know very much about politics or really be *that* interested. I'm not sure she's grown that much aside from: a) don't sleep with your pining colleague's brother - awkward b) if your going to sleep with someone for a job get something in writing first c) be careful what you say in emails.....I don't particularly dislike her though. yeah Sophie's awful.
I think she's really in it for the power that she can eventually work/sleep her way up to.
There are moments where she does think twice about telling Danny about Scott which make me think if we'd had a second series there'd have been some fabulous character development. Sophie is vile, possibly because I know girls/women like Sophie and she's just urgh.
I think it must be John Adams although tbh I don't remember him in it. I didn't get down to see Gethsemane and I wish I had.
It's called Party Animals it's about researchers, lobbyists and MPs and it's 8 episodes long and phenomenal and the BBC didn't recommission it. Shelley is fantastic in this, I adore her.

Pip Carter's done quite a lot at the national in the last couple of years, if you've seen anything there recently you might have seen him http://nationaltheatre.org.uk/32016/company-members/pip-carter.html
