Wedding Joy?

So, my Wedding Woes entry prompted a TON of comments, suggestions and ideas. Today, my sister had a really great one and I think it might totally be a winner: renting a house for a weekend.

You may be all like, wha…? but hear me out. I live in Florida. Florida is a tourist state with a TON of waterfront/lakefront/bayfront/beachfront properties.

My friend donthurrycurry is also getting married soon and was having the same issues. She also toyed around with a house rental and found some pretty nice ones, if you'd like to drop her a line. She ended up going with that park that's on top of a building in downtown Tampa (can't remember the name of it, but I didn't suggest it since you mentioned not wanting outdoors). Anyway, I thought maybe she could give you some ideas. :)

This is a fabulous idea. I got married at my sister-in-law's house in PA, with about 35 people in attendance. It ended up being a great day. The food and cake were homemade and awesome, the bar was staffed by a friend as a gift, and it was a very chill event. Highly recommend.

wow, that sounds like one of the best ideas ever!

I really hope you're able to find a place you love, I'm sure this is going to have all the benefits and none of the drawbacks of those other places you were considering :)
