It looks like she sent you a lot of food. You could try whatever food would be considered local... Key-Lime flavored something, coconut stuff, oranges.
I got her the orange butter because oranges themselves aren't in season yet. I might find something key-lime based. The foodstuff worked for her since Landcaster county is big farmland. Oranges and strawberries won't be ripe here for several months though.
You don't have to use the fruits themselves, you can use things derived from those fruits. You already have the butter, what about preserves? Or even candies?
When's the deadline? You could burn a cd of some local florida music groups (if you have it on hand). Print out recipes that would have food grown in florida (citrus stuff). If you have time, make some postcards? All that you have in your swap looks very nice. Are you trying to match quantity?
I don't have any local musicians though that's not a bad idea. I thought about trying to put together something recipe wise so maybe I should look for vegetarian ones that are Florida-related.
Not going to quantity, no, but I feel sorely lacking at the moment!
"For once, I think my partner is totally going to outdo me on a swap!!"
It's about time! You've gotten the shaft a few times, so it's nice to see someone actually sending something that makes your hard work look worth it. Plus, the time and effort you put into both the photo album and the cigar box are totally worth more than you think. Is that the Phoenix Fire logo on that tote?!? That's awesome!
I could have stopped after the veggies, jams, chips, candy, and kitschy lancaster souvenirs, but since this was for Miss M, I had to make it fabulous! I wouldn't have even included the wine if it wasn't for me knowing this package was going to a good friend and knowing that she really deserved a great package.
I very sneakily asked M for a copy of her logo, printed it out on an iron-on transfer, and then ironed it onto the small purse/tote. My thinking was that M could also use it as a promotional item for her shop - use the bag around town and when people ask her what Phoenixfire was, she'll have the perfect opportunity to pimp her goods :D
I love my swap! I can't believe you were nervous about it, especially after putting so much work into the cigar box purse! I love it, I just have to dig out a smaller wallet to fit in it, but I plan on using it!
I'm glad you liked everything I sent too, I KNOW I went overboard, but you deserved it!

Yup, she used my logo to make an iron-on for the bag. The back says, "memoryanddream" as well in a starry font. :)
