Life In Florida
Power bill arrived today. $184.97 Bear in mind, this is a 1,000 sq. ft. apartment. Not even a house. It's up $30 from last month and about $15 over last year's record-high bill. And we have more months of summer still head of us.

*sighs*

Our electric bill came yesterday. We haven't opened it yet. I don't want to. It's going to be awful, and that's with me turning the thing off in the morning after Lin leaves and suffering until I just can't stand it anymore. I know it's going to be at least as high as yours, and of course, we don't exactly have the cash for it at the moment. So Lin gets a better paying job, and then everything goes up and we still can't afford to pay the bills. Gods, like sucks.

I keep it high during the day when it's just me. We also have ceiling fans in the master bedroom and living room. Still. Ugh. In the winter, it's like $60ish bucks. So the summer bills are just utterly budget-busting. I know you know the frustration of that too.

:( *sympathy*

We don't have air conditioning in our apartment, which I suppose is a blessing and a curse, since our bills stays down...but we melt! :P

It's winter that really bankrupts us. We had a $300+ heating bill one month last year. I guess that's what we should expect, though, living in Buffalo.

There isn't anything without a/c here in Florida. With the heat lasting about 6 months a year, it's critical.

In winter, our bill tends to be around $60ish bucks. So you can see what a drastic increase (and burden) it is for the summer. :(

yikes! who is your power company?! our apartment is 1,200 feet with 4 people and our bill has been a total of $120 on average, and we usually have 2 computers and the air conditioning running... eesh! I think your power company is evil :/

It's TECO - Tampa Electric. We used to have Florida Power which didn't seem as high in our old place. Thing is though, my friend 4 miles down the road has a 2,500 sq ft. HOUSE and his bill is less then ours. On TECO also. It's awful.
