Summary: James and Lily enjoy a quiet evening, only to learn something not so good at the end.

She fell into step with him, for once at ease and not consumed with anguish or heartache over her father's death. She'd finally accepted it and was now trying to heal; each day was gradually becoming easier and easier.

Looking over at James, she gave him a faint smile - one that wasn't as wide as it had been when he tried to get her laugh (he actually succeeded, though through a bit of effort on his part), but one nonetheless.

"I did," she said softly, leaning in next to him.

He pulled her closer, still grinning. "I'm glad you did. We'll have to do this more often, you know? I miss that smile of yours," James said, glancing at her.
