I just submitted my paper on fan charity and fan activism to the Transformative Works and Cultures Journal. It's over the word count, even after me going through and cutting bits left, right and centre, and I've no idea how good it is or how well it will be received, but it's done ( Read more... )

If it passes peer review and they like whatever changes they ask me to make after it's been reviewed, then hopefully it'll go up in the special issue and it will be posted to the site. They take up to 6 months to respond to authors though, so I'm not going to hold my breath for a while!

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to take a second look at it for you, but I'm sure the final version is great. And don't stress excessively about word count--a good piece that's too ling will get edited/r&r'ed, not rejected.

And don't worry - I figured I'd be cutting it fine when I sent it to you, but I've cut a couple of sections out that didn't really add anything and it's about 700 words over. So we'll see! I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything =D
