Thirty-four (well, seventeen + sharpened duplicates) icons for Going Home Again, an almost unbearably delightful and totally canon comic from the (just published and now on shelves!) Avatar: the Last Airbender magazine. Please note this means there will definitely be spoilers behind the cut, so if you'd rather cover your eyes and run screaming, ( Read more... )

No I haven't, but I will when I have the time and money and figure out what's where in Santa Cruz! :D

Also, did you delete the icon you said you'd never delete? XD

Hooray! *harasses you into BANKRUPTCY*

I did! But I'll reupload it as soon as I have yet again fortified myself against the lagtime of 'manage userpics.' So later today, probably. (IT IS MY PRECIOUS AND I SHALL NEVER LEAVE IT.)

HAHAHA THAT WAS MY FAVORITE REVEAL. Okay, okay, no, my favorite reveal was "ZUKO TOTES HAD A CHILDHOOD CRUSH ON MAI," followed closely by the implication that Azula and Ty Lee have experience when it comes to forcing Zuko and Mai into "situations," but Mai: Antagonizer of Crushes is a very, very close third. (HAHAHA SHE THREW MUD IN HIS FACE. omg. And I bet Zuko could not figure out why Mai was so mean to him. Oh, love! It brings such pain.)

I think we need to pull a Captain Kirk here. You know, all fury and vengeance, shouting "FAAAAAAAANDOOOOOOOOMMMMMM" directly into the camera.

Each and every one of these icons is totally necessary! On...account of how great Mai and Zuko are. Yes. Their delightful frolicking and dietary nitpicking are irresistible.

(Thanks for commenting!)

Actually, the comment had more to do with your fantastic cropping skills!

Though it is nice to see Mai's girlish charm for the first time ever.

I have failed at accepting a very lovely compliment! Excuse me, I will now die covered in shame and also hearts.

It's a good thing we haven't been exposed to the full extent of her girlish charm before, as -- I theorize now -- prolonged exposure may overwhelm the heart.

Rawles! Rawles, Rawles, Rawles. WHAT IS HAPPENING. I liked Mai/Zuko before, but now I ... cannot ... in my heart?? Suspiciously examining food! Frolicking in the moonlight! The continuation of the theme "Zuko, stripped of dignity." (Inna fountaaaaain.) ♥♥♥MAI♥♥♥

ALSO I GUESS MAYBE MY HEART EXPLODED A LITTLE WHEN I SAW THEM HOLDING HANDS IN THE LAST PANEL.

MEM. I...I.

I HAVE WAITED SO LONG, MEM. FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I COULD FEEL IN MY HEART EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT TRULY UNDERSTAND UNTIL I READ IT MYSELF.

i-i cannot deal?!?!?!?!11

MY HEART MIGHT HAVE EXPLODED AT HAND-HOLDING BUT IT WAS ALREADY LONG GONE AT, I WILL NOT LIE, THE "HMM. FOOD AZULA LEFT FOR US. POISONED Y/N?"

(and they both hate the unidentified string instrument (?!) and how irritating Azula and Ty Lee can be and also...everything else in the world.)

(except each other)

U-um, I admit I never quite understood the whole allure of Maiko before. I mean, I didn't MIND it, and I could see how it would feasibly work, but I guess I never really...felt the love?

But.

But.

#2 and Zuko's "omgwhut" face, squid!head in #6, some kind of airborne projectile in #8 (was that Mai who threw that tell me it was Mai oh Zuko you'd better run now!), #12 and Zuko's face again, joint!conspirators in #26, #28 and Mai's finger and Zuko's faaaaaace, and OMGWTF is that JIN in #10!?!?! asdll;kjoa;lkas;sdf

I-ignoring even all the kissy-kissy and candlelit dinners and cute blushing and stuff. The retarded teenage antics, they call to me! ♥ ♥ ♥

*plants an official "Maiko" flag in her garden of OTP*

I sort of feel the same way! In that I liked it and was pleased to see THE KISSTM in the trailer, but it did not seize my heart and punch my gut until this day. Yesterday. The point at which I read the comic. I just. Frolicking! Hijinks! Shy moonlit kissing! SUCKER-PUNCH KO.

It was not Mai what threw the projectile in #8, though she is responsible for the throwing of the projectile in ... a way. And that is indeed Jin you spy! I WILL SAY NO MORE. I recommend checking out the magazine if you can, because it is delightful, for loads of reasons: Sokka edumacatin' a bear on wilderness living, delicious Water Tribe subterfuge, another super-deformed special, and lots and lots of FABULOUS.

Oh gods Jin!!!! I-it's rather ridiculous to love such a minor character so much, I know, but she was awesome in all of her ten minutes of glory and I can so totally see her getting behind Mai/Zuko if only for the greater goal of Getting Zuko Laid (By Somebody)! A-also, Water Tribe subterfuge = +++!

*shifty-eyes wallet and bus-schedules for the 20-min ride to the nearest bookstore* Oh Nickelodeon, why you gotta be this way?
