I miss the very early days of my interest in Bleach, when I was younger and it was both ironic and heartfelt in its dealings with the tropes of shounen manga -- simultaneously mocking them and embracing them. I'm not sure if Kubo Tite's storytelling evolved in such a way that I no longer found it interesting, or if it was my perspective that changed.

I kind of wish I still loved it the way I used to.

Soul Society transferring to Ichigo's high school ranks as one of the most ridiculously hilarious moments in my entire manga-reading career, and ultimately it is one of the most disappointing. EARLY!BLEACH WOULD HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF THAT SHIT FOR GREAT COMEDIC JUSTICE.

Seriously, Ikkaku and Yumichika are doing it.

As brilliant a character as Jack Sparrow is - clever though the writing is, gifted though Johnny Depp is - I can happily and honestly report I do not find him at all attractive. It is entirely possible this is due to the sore he's sported on his face since the very first movie. STDs: THEY AIN'T ATTRACTIVE.

Elizabeth is so, so very amazing. She's charming and cunning and every inch the lady even when she's a pirate (and every inch the pirate even when she's a lady). She's made sacrifices and lost those she's loved; she's held strong during the worst of storms. Whatever is thrown at her, she comes out the stronger for it, and I think she is just amazing. Easily one of my favorite heroines omg. ♥

PS SHE IS NOT A WHORE.

So, um, every time I watch any one of the PotC movies, I discover my love for Will - dorky, honorable, clever, devoted Will - has increased at least tenfold. I ... CAN'T HELP IT??? He's just. He's so noble and so driven and so devoted to the people he loves and the ideals he holds,

By season three, Baltar is one of the five characters I did not want to see die in a fiery explosion.

OH, MAN, AVATAR. Oh, man, Avatar.

Zuko is a patriot. He does not like Aang's friends. He does not want to join them. He wants to do the right thing for himself, for his family, and for his nation.

The relationship betweeen Aang and Katara, whatever it may be, is easily the most important relationship of the series. You don't have to 'ship them, but it's kind of ridiculous to claim they don't mean the world to each other.

AANG IS AWESOME.

I think the Sokka/Suki vs. Sokka/Yue 'ship wars are very, very silly. LADIES. GENTLEMEN. I think it is fairly evident Sokka/The Ladies is the true winner here.

OKAY SERIOUSLY I AM WILDLY IN LOVE WITH EVERY SINGLE FIGHT SCENE IN THIS SHOW. LIKE ... I CANNOT EVEN BEGIN TO PUT INTO WORDS HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM. I would happily purchase AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER: GREATEST FREE-FOR-ALLS, VOLUMES 1 THROUGH 9 as individual DVDs and then in a boxset.

I'm not very familiar with Earthsea's fandom! I'm not sure if it even has a fandom. Um. I hated that they whitewashed the entire cast for the miniseries? But that's far from an unpopular opinion, so.

...I can't say I'm terribly familiar with Howl's Moving Castle's fandom, either! Er. I thought the book was vastly superior to the film both in terms of narrative and in terms of character, but I do believe the film had a stronger emotional core.

Sophie is my favorite character! Howl is neat and funny, yes, but Sophie is why I love it. ♥

Um. Castle in the Air was awesome? I DON'T HAVE A LOT TO WORK WITH HERE, OKAY.
