Yoohoo, this is Ari, your mayor! My apologies for the... er... lack of electricity. It appears a power line was slightly damaged from the storm, but it was so little that we didn't really notice and just over looked the whole thing, but I guess there was a surge in power usage, and... well.
But there are good news!
I'm sure you've noticed the barbecue setup outside by now. Please feel free to eat as much as you want.
Also! There are several temporary jobs available, due to the high demands from the barbecues.
1. The butcher is looking for one to two helpers until power is up again and we're back onto a regular cooking system. This is a fairly difficult job right now since the freezer does not work; the meat will need to be freshly slaughtered each day, salted to keep preserved, and cut and delivered once every few hours. Ideal candidates should be strong and unsqueamish around blood. Morning shifts are 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM; evening shifts are 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM. Wages are $9.50/hr.
2. The market is looking for a few extra employees to help out during the blackout session. Responsibilities include unpacking and sorting breads and vegetables, and selling them. Employees that show exceptional behaviour will be offered a permanent job after the power outage is over. Shifts are 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 12:00 PM - 6:30 PM, and 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Wages are $8.50/hr.
3. The mines would like helpers to help for the large amount of coal we're using up for the barbecues. They're only taking people who would really be willing to volunteer for something like this, though, as the job is dangerous and, though they'll put the new recruits near the entrances, where it's safer, there is no guarantee that the mines won't collapse and trap everyone inside. There will be more information only if people are interested.
As these jobs are mostly temporary and the places need people soon, all applications are to be submitted to me, and I will relay all information.
