entomology/etymology (worm)

LanguageLog has an entry today about the etymology of "worm" and its relation to "crimson". Yes, they're related. I always remember the Quigmans cartoon with the caption "Oh Bob! I love a man in cuneiform!"

I've been wanting to tie my middle name "Cunnison" to "cunt" etc. but I'm not sure if it will hold up to philological scrrutiny.
