Faith, Hope, and Love

Things have been a bit rough lately. I have had a lot of trouble finding a job. Either I am over- qualified or under-qualified. It's frustrating and scary, but God is teaching us a lot about faith, patience, and trust. Finances are scary and debt is piling up, but we are trying to stay positive and remember God is in control and we have a lot ( Read more... )

I'm happy that something wonderful has come out of your struggles (that you're closer than ever). I'm praying for you both.

I agree! It has been really scary, I have always been one to worry about money and monitor our finances like a hawk, but like I said, God is teaching us a lot, and we are just trying to be faithful and patient.

I know I suggested this to you last year, but I would really try the job fair at the Natural Resources Conference. It's Jan. 30 and the job fair doesn't cost anything other than gas money to Tan-Tar-A. They usually have a lot of summer jobs available there, along with some longer-term ones.

I know what you mean about Chris sacrificing. Leonard is stuck working nights in a mill. He deserves a lot better than that.

I will actually be attending the MNRC conference this year because I helped develope a poster while I was an intern that is going to be presented at the conference. Because of that, the MDC is going to pay for me to go, even though I don't technically work for them anymore. So I will definately check it out.

Glad to hear that you'll be able to make it to MNRC. Just a warning though, it's mostly a social gathering with lots of drinking. They even serve free beer during the poster session. Have fun! I wish I was able to go.

If Chris taking the test is as important as what you say, I'm sure there are people out there that are willing to loan you the money. You can substitute teach anywhere and if you are so far in debt, it would save a lot of money if you moved back home for a while even if you didn't like it.

We probably could borrow money, but the thing is we already owe Matt 400$ for the ferret surgery, and we just don't want to be any more in debt to others than we already are. At least with the credit cards, it is our probelem and we are not burdening anyone other than ourselves. As far as moving back with family, it is something we have talked about, but the truth is we probably wouldn't be welcome back with grandpa and again we don't want to burden others with our problems. Something will work out, we just have to have faith.
