[ The night had been going as planned, nothing unexpected had come up - aside from the noisy table next to them at dinner that was - it was all perfect. Just how he had pictured it.

So after the short walk towards Pont des Arts, he found himself turning towards her, a small smile at the corner of his mouth. ]

Come on, I wanna show you something.

[ Tugging her slightly along, he calmly made his way along the path of the bridge, only to stop almost slightly in the center of it, turning to look at her with a fond smile. ]

[Ariadne had been having a great time - Arthur always knew how to get her to have fun, and make her feel like the most important person in the world, if only for a few hours before he ran off to do something else for work, or whatever.

So when he led her to the bridge she offered him a confused little smile.] What did you want to show me?

[cuspis]

[ He smiled then - one not many honestly saw from him. But it was a smile that showed just how utterly happy he was at that very moment. ]

This. [ Giving her a small, almost nervous chuckle, he dug into his pocket, pulling out a small pad lock for her to see. His eyes scanning over her to see if she had any idea what this was. (Besides the obvious; it's a lock) ]

[All she could do was return the smile - it was such a rare sight on his face, and something about the fact that she was one of the few people who could get him to smile like that always made her heart swell in her chest.

But the padlock was a little confusing.] Um, okay? I'm sorry, I don't get it...

[cuspis]

[ He gave her a soft chuckle, shaking his head slightly, as he knew just how cheesy all of this could honestly be all - at least to him that was. He wasn't someone that went about things like this, but it was Ariadne, she seemed to have him breaking all his rules.

Handing over the padlock for her to take, he dug in his pocket, fishing out the key and a permanent marker. ] There is thing people do. They write there names on a lock, locking it to something [ He nodded towards the rail of the bridge then, as if to say; something like this bridge here. ] and then throwing away the key.

And in the way, it symbolizes their undying love for one and other.

[ Yes, perhaps, he was still slightly vague. But he was hoping she would get the meaning of his action with the lock ]

[She waited until he was done speaking, a goofy smile brightening her features.] So, basically, you're pledging your undying love for me. Or some crazy thing like that. [She grasped his hand, and examined the lock closely.]

[ He cracked a smile again, glancing out over the water below the bridge. ] It appears that way, doesn't it?

[ Turning his attention towards her again, his expression serious. (Enough to show he wasn't joking that is) ]

I love you, Ariadne. I don't know when it happened, but it did, and I wouldn't change that fact.

[chesstotem]

[She smiles, and wraps her arms around him.] I'm glad it did. I love you, too. Even though you're making a silly show of it. [Her smile is definitely a little teasing.]

[ He let out a soft chuckle at that, nodding slightly, as he wrapped his arms around her small frame, lightly placing a kiss atop her head. ] Have you ever known me to do anything half-ass?

[ Yes, he could tease with her right back. ]

Are we just going to stand here all night though, or did you want to put the lock on the fence or not - I can gladly find another use for it if not.

[chesstotem]

[She laughs a little, and carefully takes the lock.] I'll do it. [She wraps her small hands around it, and carefully locks it to the fence.]

[cuspis]

[ Again he chuckled, the smile on his face possibly going all the way to the corner of his eyes. (Yes, even the dimples were out) ]

Now. This proves to you, just how committed I am to you, right?

Maybe. But, while I like the grand gestures, maybe you could do something else a little more... practical?

[cuspis]

Practical? [ His brow arched in question, as a small smile crossed his lips. (Arthur was always practical - or so he thought. But he would do anything to please or impress her, so this was his attempt at being romantic perhaps? )

Arms pulling her closer, he just kissed the top of her head. ] Would you have like me stating my love for you better in a card? [ A joke, or so he hopes. ]

No. But maybe, if you want to prove you're committed, we should think about living together? [She gives him a hopeful smile.]

Live together? [ He sounded almost contemplative at that, as he slowly nodded in thought. ] And where would you suggest we do that?

[ A small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth then, as he rested his chin lightly atop her head, perfectly content in this moment. ]
