"I'm so sorry you saw that," she said, because it was all she could think of to say. "Please tell me if there's anything I can do."

He shook his head. “Is there anything you can do about them?”

"Regular old nightmares? No," she said sadly. "I just mean, is there anything I can do to make you feel better?" She tilted her head to kiss his cheek.

“Just…” He sighed and closed his eyes again. “Stay with me.”

"I will, I promise." She kissed his forehead, then his nose, then his mouth.

"Anywhere you want," she said without hesitation. "Name the place."

“I don’t know, he replied. “Somewhere far away.”

She nodded, snuggling closer to him. "Let me know whenever you've made a decision. Anywhere you want to go is fine with me."

"Hawaii?" He said after a moment.

"Hawaii sounds great," she murmured with a nod. "I can make us reservations tomorrow first thing, if you want."
