Ohai, don't mind me and this 6 here. deducing_freak October 15 2011, 22:57:47 UTC
[This was such a silly idea. But the detective never could turn down a challenge, no matter how ridiculous it might have seemed. John had mentioned his unfortunate encounter with his brother's assistant. Frankly, he seemed more put off that he wasn't as much of a 'ladies man' as he thought. So Sherlock may or may not have teased him about it, which brought on the dare. It was childish. But the man accepted it without hesitation just to simply prove a point. That and... well maybe by chance he could convince the so-called "Anthea" to get his brother to lighten up on the security.

The best way to this woman's heart, was through her cell phone.]

You busy?

Fine.
Don't make me wait.

[ Oh, Sherlock had hardly seduced her. And it wasn't a date, right? ]

[Oh no, no, not a date at all. Just two people, going out, alone together, having some dinner. It was purely innocent. Really. Sherlock would call ahead to make reservations, all the smile smirking at John in the process. He was just one step closer to completing this deal. Perhaps they should have placed wagers. Though if things went according to plan, that might have made him seem a bit too selfish. Sherlock would just settle for bragging rights.]

Don't wait up.

[Of course the detective had shown up a good fifteen minutes early to ensure they got the table he wanted. He was very specific about such details. Sherlock would be seen sitting alone, one leg crossed over the other in a casual manner. In one hand was a glass of wine, the other was his phone as he'd glance down to check the time.]

[ Date or not, "Anthea" was certainly dressed to the nines in a sleek blouse and skirt. Then again, she really wasn't the type of girl to out dressed in something as casual as 'jeans and a t-shirt.' Honestly, she didn't even own any, not since becoming Mycroft's assistant. She toyed with the idea of texting her boss to share her amusement at going out with his younger brother, but decided against it. It was fun to have this little secret, and besides, Mycroft would probably use the opportunity to make her work or something. ]

Sherlock.

[ Was all she with a said when she arrived exactly three minutes before she was supposed to be there, before taking a seat across from him. She didn't see any point in arriving earlier than that. Well. At least she wasn't texting yet. ]

[Blue eyes would be cast upward at the mention of his name, now slipping his cell into his pocket as he greeted his date friend guest to the table.]

Anthea. [There's a faint smirk at the corner of his lips when he says that and arches a brow at her curiously.] Or is that not your name this week..?

[No phone? Consider him somewhat impressed. It was strange not to see the woman's thumbs on the buttons, even more so to see her face rather then just her usual downward glance.]

[ Oh, her cell phone was held in one hand, purse in the other. After sitting down, she calmly set the phone beside her glass. Call it a challenge of sorts. The moment she grew bored, she would probably return to texting, but for now, Sherlock had her calm attention. With a slight smirk of her own, she shrugged a shoulder casually.]

Evelyn, actually, but you may call me Anthea if you wish.

[ Her gaze fell on him. Hard to tell the two were brothers, really, as different as they were in appearance. Oh, both dressed well, but there was something more unruly to Sherlock - his manner, his hair. ]

You must have been very bored tonight, to want to ask out your 'archenemy's' right-hand woman.

[Sherlock would glance down at the phone. Challenge accepted. Though he was somewhat skeptical of it at first. Or maybe the better word to use was paranoid, for all he knew, Mycroft could have been tapped in and listening through the line. But nothing seemed to be out of place. No uncommon scratches. The back plate hadn't been removed. Conclusion? All was secure.]

Evelyn..? [He'll have to judge that name for a short moment before shaking his head some.] While the name meaning may be acceptable for this occasion, I don't think it quite suits you. [So "Anthea" it is then. It's an uncommon name and as most would know, Sherlock likes the unique variety.]

Same could be said you my dear. After all, you did accept my offer.

[ Sherlock really should learn to try to trust people a little more. Not that he had much reason to trust her, of course, and vice versa. Anthea wasn't entirely sure this was just a 'friendly outing,' after all. The man had never shown friendly interest in her before, although usually she figured it was more annoyance at his brother, and her association with him. So she remained somewhat suspicious, but if she was getting a free meal and drinks out of this, it couldn't be considered a complete waste.

And it was also Sherlock Holmes. She could not deny the man was intriguing as he was frustrating. ]

So you're aware Evelyn commonly means 'pleasant, lively, beautiful, or even uncertain, and desired?

[ She raised her brow. ] Why, Sherlock, was that a compliment, then? I'm flattered.

Yes, well I had nothing better to do.

[Perhaps. But Sherlock didn't exactly have friends and what few people he did socialize with, he only trusted maybe two or three. Which probably didn't say much about his circle of acquaintances.]

Oh I'm quite aware. [But he isn't going to confirm or deny that it may or may not have been a possible compliment. Because, this was not a date. The detective had no obligation to compliment her or not.]

Good. I've heard that my brother can be something of a slave driver. Hate to see you too overworked, it's not healthy.

Lets just pretend like this post didn't somehow get lost... notanthea October 21 2011, 18:55:14 UTC
[ A faint smile passes over her features. Of course it wasn't a date. Just keep telling yourself that, detective. ]

I'm quite able to handle your brother, Sherlock. And quite the contrary, he's rather good about giving me lots of time off.

[ She leaned forward a bit, and there might have been a slight wink there as well. ] I can assure you I'm very healthy.

I blame LJ for sucking. Cause, yeah... LJ totally sucks like that sometimes. S'all good hun. deducing_freak October 22 2011, 04:17:19 UTC
[He will keep telling himself that, because it makes it easier for him to sleep at night... or y'know, whenever he does actually get around to sleeping. Because going on a date with your fat jerkface brother's assistant was just a tad on the awkward side.]

So I see. [Sherlock glances down at her phone on the table before flashing a quick smirk.] You haven't touched your phone once since you've sat down and it seems he hasn't tried to text you at all. I'm rather surprised really. I bet he couldn't even tie his shoes without you by his side.

Still late. Sorry, my dear. notanthea October 24 2011, 02:10:09 UTC
[ Going on a date for Sherlock must be awkward, period. She's fairly certain he doesn't do much of that, if only because she and/or Mycroft would know. They do tend to keep close tabs on the younger Holmes brother, after all. Anthea favors him with a sly smile, and a casual shrug of one shoulder. She really can't help herself. ]

Or perhaps I currently have a wire attached to my bra, picking up and recording every little thing that happens on our 'date.' Depending on how well this goes, I might even let you examine me thoroughly and see for yourself later.

no worries there hun ♥ deducing_freak October 24 2011, 03:01:06 UTC
[It would have been awkward, had this been an actual date. But it's not. He's going to stick to that story and cling to it for dear life. Not to mention Mycroft would more then likely disapprove of his actions... assuming that his older brother didn't know of this little outing. Which was highly doubtful.]

The thought had crossed my mind to a body search before you sat at the table, but I decided to take the more gentlemanly approach and abide by my best behavior. [Alright..so maybe with that little proposal, this could very well be a date.] Care for some wine then?

[ It would be a dangerous thing, becoming even slightly involved with his brother's assistant. Whether or not he knew about it, she wasn't telling... yet, anyway. ]

How fortunate for me. You certainly know how to make a girl feel special. Yes, please.

[ She smiled smoothly, leaning forward just a bit. Already, the night was not turning out to be a complete waste of time. Then again, Sherlock was anything if not interesting, even when he was being completely insufferable. ]

What if I told you your brother isn't aware or out little tryst this evening? Its a bit dangerous, and exciting, keeping something like this from him, wouldn't you agree?

[ She arched a manicured eyebrow thoughtfully, before taking a sip of her wine once he'd poured it. ]

[Sherlock can be somewhat considerate whenever he wants to be. Despite popular belief, he isn't always just an insufferable jerk all the time. Not to mention he had a dare to win tonight, so the detective was sure to be more pleasant then usual without entirely giving himself away in the process.]

And what if I told you that I may not quiet be convinced of that. There is little to nothing at all that my brother doesn't know about me and you are the closest link to him. But I suppose I'll simply have to trust you and take your word for it. [To actually have Sherlock's trust certainly said something indeed. Besides, it's not like she had any reason to outwardly lie to him like that, or so he thought anyway. Never the less, he'll go along with it]
