Seeing as how Venkman turned off the lights, it's pretty difficult to make out Ray's form in the backseat. Then again it would have been hard enough to notice him even with them on; to his credit, he's really good at squeezing himself in weird positions in his sleep. If he was even really sleeping to begin with, but that's hardly the point.
There's a sudden yawn from the back and suddenly he's leaning forward, putting on the world's most convincing groggy face as he looms over Venkman's shoulder. Really, really looms.
Egon tried really, really hard to convince himself to play along but the situation was just far too disturbing for his tastes. He pulled himself out of his hiding place (thank God Ray's knee was no longer in his spleen) and leaned over Ray to give Peter a disapproving look.
"Sorry, Venkman. We couldn't stand to just sit there and listen to whatever would have happened. You can't really blame us." He quickly nudged Ray in the ribs.
He exchanged a rather apologetic look with Tara, followed by a knowing glance at Egon. She was pretty much the victim here whether she wanted to believe it or not, and if she didn't, one need only look at the testimonies of Peter's past girlfriends. Heck, he and Egon were practically doing her a favor.
"More or less. If it makes you feel better, we didn't really see anything that much. You know, in case you were worried."
"We probably did you more good by stowing away than you know. In fact, you might want to be let off at the next stop and find a bus ride home."
He nodded shortly to her, shot a quick stern look at Venkman, then settled into the back seat, pulling a book from the front pocket of the suitcase he'd been squished against the entire trip.

"Not necessarily."

He gives her a much more noticeable smirk.

He leans in, pressing his lips to hers.
