[God, he misses his flat.

Since the GHP kids' enemies had started closing in, even resulting in the disappearances of some of their friends, it had been decided that safety was to be taken over all else. Living in cramped conditions with however many other members of the GHP was doing Edgar's head in.

Maybe that's why he's gone to stand outside the back door, even though he's only in a pair of pyjama bottoms. The air is cool and inside is stiflingly hot.]

[stove_wife]

[Agatha's also outside, in a t-shirt and shorts. She appears to be building little ships from newspaper, and playing pirates with her toads.]

[The toads start croaking and she turns around.] You should be asleep.

[He plonks himself down next to her tiredly, running a hand through his hair. He replies grouchily,] So should you.

[stove_wife]

It's, like, too hot for my toads, apparently. They always want to play at night anyway.

[She stares up at the stars.] ...I miss my little apartment. I wish we could figure out who was doing this quickly, so we could, like, just fight them and get it over with.

Mmm. That would be ideal. [His gaze stays on the toads.]

I hate high temperatures too. I'm more of a winter person, I think.

[stove_wife]

They don't really like the cold either, though. They just want to be pleasantly cool, and preferably damp. I think toads are spring creatures.

...Do you think the air conditioning here's, like, broken? Maybe we could get it fixed.

The pond in our garden always filled with tadpoles in the spring. They're kind of funny, tadpoles.

By who? People aren't meant to know we're here, and I'm not sure there's a single capable electrician among us. [He rubs his eyes, irritated.]

[stove_wife]

Yeah, little black wiggly things. They're cute. Toads think they look funny too.

[Frowns. Stubbornly:] It can't be that hard. [No Agatha, you can't will your way through electrician work!]

[craving_gold]

[He glances sidelong at her.] It probably is, if you don't know what you're doing. Which you definitely don't.

[stove_wife]

[She scowls at you, but doesn't object. Vocally. Agatha, what are you going to do? D:]

So, do you, like, plan to sleep out here, then? Or what?

[craving_gold]

I don't know what I'm planning on doing. I don't think sleep is involved. [He picks at his pyjama bottoms. Real men wear PJs, okay.] It wouldn't be the first time I've seen the sunrise in.

[stove_wife]

That's not good. You need to sleep. ...You sleep during the day when that, like, happens, right?

Sleeping outside's not that bad. I've done it quite a bit. I'll probably do it tonight.

[craving_gold]

Not really. I've managed a couple of nights without. It's best not to do that, though.

What, here? [He glances around.]

Yeah. The ground's pretty flat, and it's not all rocky. It's a pretty good spot, actually.
