((Sounds good. :) ))

After all that had happened and all Mohinder had been through, he eventually decided to continue teaching and try to put the past behind him. Luckily Noah was able to cover up Claire's world revealing stunt, making the public believe it was only an elaborate prank, and the specials could truly relax now. At least as far as he knew. Mohinder would have been lying if he said he wasn't a tad on the bored side now though. But he preferred this over the craziness any day.

At the moment, he was making his way down one of the main streets when he felt his phone vibrate, indicating he had a message. As he read it, he assumed one of his colleagues had given out his email, so he wasn't the least bit apprehensive about writing back, especially to someone who wanted to talk about genetics. Finding people whose eyes didn't glaze over at the subject were tough to find.

Greetings, Dr. Stacy. Pardon the informal format of this email, I'm on my phone at the moment. Yes, that would be excellent. I'm always up for talking to a ( ... )

After he'd ordered, he moved to the side to wait for his drink and took the time to quickly answer her in return.

That's fine. I'll be in the last booth by the window. See you soon!

Once his drink order was up, he took it and went to sit down and wait, casually glancing out the window every so often to see if he could guess which one was her. Countless times he assumed a lady was her, only to have them pass by the door. Of course, he was going off the idea that her appearance was like most of the female professors he'd met so far - the cliche librarian look. Not that there was anything wrong with that, but it appeared to be the standard and he had no reason to believe otherwise. With that stereotype stuck in his head, he somehow didn't even notice when the beautiful blonde arrived.

At the voice, he immediately snapped out of his little guessing game and glanced up at her... Oh. This was very unexpected and had he known, he would have gotten a drink with much more caffeine. "Yes, I am. And you are Dr. Stacy, I presume?" he asked to make sure as he stood to shake her hand.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. Please, have a seat." With a smile that hopefully didn't give away his nervousness, he motioned to the chair right across from him as he sat down. "So, what's on your mind? What would you like to discuss? I'm free for the rest of the day." Smart and beautiful? There had to be some sort of catch. What if this was a setup of some kind? That was Mohinder's paranoia beginning to creep up on him. But he tried to push those thoughts aside so he could focus on what she had to say.

Mohinder smiled softly when she mentioned she'd read his father's book and his own papers. Although he knew it was all fact, others even giving the theories a chance was a rare occasion, so he was definitely interested in hearing what she was thinking. When she paused and took a sip of her drink, Mohinder absently did as well, copying her out of nervousness. Plus, this was pretty good chai.

But when she mentioned animal DNA, he quickly cleared his throat. "Enhanced animal DNA...?" The thought to try mixing animal DNA never once occurred to him. Especially after he was almost turned into a lizard/spider/whatever himself. But he certainly couldn't tell her that. "I-I don't know. I mean, my first reaction is that it could be dangerous. But past that, of course I am very curious." Probably more curious than he should have been. Good thing he wasn't a cat. "What type of attributes are they trying to produce and what have they tried so far?"

And at her words, the gears began turning. "Ah, regeneration, enhanced agility and night vision. Very interesting." He was slightly disappointed she could not give a progress report though, but didn't show that in his expression. Her presenting this information to him in the first place was amazing enough and he was grateful for that. "How did you come upon this information, if you don't mind me asking? I'm guessing it's at least semi-confidential so I will keep it between you and I, no worries." Although he was very tempted to tell her about his past experiments, at least the successes, he resisted. They'd just met and no matter how tough it was to find someone that seemed as interested in this as she did, he couldn't risk it. At least not at the moment. Plus, although she seemed open to all this, actually seeing such things might have frightened her.

((I'm thinking that something would have to happen where he accidentally has to use his power in front of her for him to open up to her. Otherwise, he'd just be too paranoid. Not sure ( ... )

"You'll be working closely with this project?" Mohinder couldn't help grinning like a cat who'd ate the canary about all this - these lucky turn of events. "Well, I hope you don't mind if I give you the title of my new best friend?" he joked, quietly laughing. Actually, it wasn't too far from the truth lately. Mohinder had been throwing himself into his work and teaching so much that it'd been forever since he'd taken any time to be social. At this news, he was so distracted by it, that he didn't think to ask her about the other reasons, but he could do that later. He leaned forward with an expression like a kid in a candy store and asked, "I don't suppose you've got the preliminary paperwork with you that I could possibly take a look at?"

((There we go. She could take him with her to find the paperwork. :D))

Mohinder couldn't help noticing how nice her smile was as he nodded to her suggestion. "Excellent. I'd like that, yes. Plus, the weather is quite nice, might as well take advantage of it." And they could finish their drinks along the way as well. He stood to put his coat on before helping her slip on hers. Without thinking, he even straightened her hair, pulling it out from under the coat for her. "Also, I don't think I've visited your university yet, so I'll be seeing someplace new." After she was taken care of, he picked up his cup with one hand and, like a gentleman, offered her his other arm. "Shall we? Please lead the way."

Brand new labs and equipment to see? It was like Christmas had come early. Today was going far too well - new theories to go over, new labs to check out, walking down the street with a beautiful woman on his arm. This all meant one thing... Something was surely about to go wrong. Yeah, the paranoia was coming back to him now and it didn't help matters that one of the roads were blocked off when they turned a corner. "Oh, I suppose we need to find a detour. They even have the sidewalk smashed up." After glancing around a moment, he spotted an alleyway that seemed as though it would take them around the construction. "Shall we try over there?" He pointed. She would know this area better than he would have. Maybe she knew if that was the correct way.
