Seb wasn't sure about this, Robin had picked the guy for him and she hadn't exactly talked him up very well. But the mention of him being a twin pushed the right buttons at least. As long as Seb didn't think too much about how his daughter seemed to be really into his date's brother.

It was becoming a sad tradition, this killing their probation workers and finding himself in secret relationships with theor therapists. The last attempt he'd had at having a serious argument with the other Rudy, demanding him to start attending to his anger management sessions himself, had ended terribly wrong: with Rudy Too agreeing on going out for a blind date.
Talk about stressing and changing your mind over and over for a painful week.
"Huh?" He almost doesn't respond to the name, but being called out around Robin has given him pratice at recognising it. "Y-yeah."
"Hey, I'm Seb. My daughter, Robin, set us up?" He smiled and put out his hand to shake. He didn't believe in judging people... much... but the guy looked so sad, his face was so long. They were twins? He wouldn't have thought that this face was Robin's type.
His eyebrows creep up a little at Rudy's slip. He can pretty much finish the broken sentence off himself. But, Rupert at least stopped himself and changed it about, and Seb has said plenty of stupid things himself in the past.
"You too." He nods and sits down, picking up the menu to have a quick look at what there is to eat.
"Me too, mate." Rudy breathed out a soft chuckle, picking up his own menu after the older man too the initiative. Even thought he was reading the lists of food, he wasn't really paying attention to none of it, no. His mind was set on one issue.
"Out of curiosity." He lowered it a bit, just a bit to look at Seb, while still shielding himself. "What's your daughter said.. She's said something 'bout me?"
Did she truly think he's gay? He thought they got along. Unless the other Rudy put things in her mind. Or what if she was getting rid of him? What if she didn't like him at all and she was taking the piss by setting him with her dad? Oh, God, she hated him.
How does he put this without making it sound like Robin spent the whole time insulting Rupert? She didn't exactly talk him up much, but he'd agreed to come because she clearly liked him and cared about it.
"She thinks you're a nice guy, but she thought that you could use a little cheering up. I guess she thought that I could get you to come out of your shell a bit?" He was clearly some little hermit crab trying to hide away in one...
"I don't know. Robin means well, and I want to think you and your brother for looking after her. She's not made many friends and I know she misses home."
There's clear worry on Rudy's face the more Robin's dad goes on what she thinks about him. Seb's probably censoring himself, that's all he can think as he sadly nods to his words.
"There's nothin' to thank 'bout, she's a great girl, she is." He says forcing a smile. "She looks after us, really, feedin' us and such. Thank you, in any case, for lettin' her 'ang with us."
"She's old enough to chose who she wants to hang out with. You should thank her for that. I'm just here to protect my little girl if anyone tries to hurt her, that's my job as a dad." He smiles. He doesn't mean to come over as threatening, and he has every faith in Robin's judge of character, she's a smart girl.
It's quite easy to hear the way Rudy swallows at what he still decodes as a mild threat, his Adam's Apple bouncing with it. Once again, he burries his head behind the menu.
"I'm surprised she set me up with, well, you Sir." There was a time, when Rudy was clearly fooling himself with hope, that he thought that Robin might even like him. A tiny bit perhaps. But it lifted his spirit.
Seb wasn't surprised that she'd set him up with Rupert though. She probably thought that she was teaching him a lesson about just going after pretty, younger dates. Though, Rupert was probably still younger than him at least.
It sure was Rudy One's work, that twat sure thought this was hilarious and was sure proud of taking the piss of him by puttin' things on Robin's head. Things that after all, were all linked to his repressed desires to experiment and follow through with what a very high Richard Saunders had offered.
It was not Rudy Too's fault if his other self kept everything so bottled up.
"But I'm glad." He offered a small, awkward smile.
That came as a bit of a surprise to Seb and even made him slightly uncomfortable. He'd trusted in Robin to set him up with someone that actively liked men. Had she been mistaken, or was this some kind of cruel joke on both their behalves?
Rudy had actually tried to go for a compliment there, but of course that had somehow gone wrong. He could never do anything right, now could he? Dropping his smile again, he bowed his head and focused back on the menu.
Seb gave a sad smile. He was lonely, he could understand that.
"I'll tell you what..." He put his hand on the top of the menu to ease it down and make eye contact. "We'll have a nice meal and chat. And then we'll see what happens, yeah?"

A guy? No one told him his date would be a guy!

Being set up with a bloke. Again, that had to be Rudy One's doing. It sure had to do with something about suppressed sexual desire...
"It's nice to meet you," he finally said, taking Seb's hand for a shake.

"I'm a bit out of practice at dating." He admits.
