Dad, I don't want to be out in the field. Too much running. [She's an english and creative writing major, okay? Running is not her short list of things to do.] I like it here. I'll just help with research and redo your books on the scrapyard because your organization? Is terrible.
[Here, Bobby. Bacon and eggs. Pancakes will be up soon. She leans over his shoulder to deposit the plate, peeling off his hat (No hats at the table, Dad.) and dropping a kiss to the top of his head.]

[He's got to protest at least a little. Oh. Hey. Breakfast. Real, incredible breakfast.
[Has he mentioned lately how much he likes Abi living there? Because he does.] All right. After grabbing a few hours' shut eye, I'll run you through the basics. Demonology, exorcisms. How's your Latin?

Not a few hours. At least 8. Sleep deprivation is a cause of death, you know. Eat. [She goes back to minding the pancakes, flipping with one hand and nibbling on a piece of bacon with the other.] Took 4 years, actually. Never thought I'd use it, but it's like...the root of all languages, right? So I figured it'd give me a head start if I ever ended up stranded in the middle of some random country.

4 years? That's good. That'll get most of the basics outta the way. Exorcism rituals, you're learnin them until you can say them without the books. Most of the stuff I have is Latin, some Greek, and a mash of a few other long-dead languages.
Smart kid, you'll pick it up as you go. [She likes books. Note to self, be sure to threaten Sam as well as Dean next time they're in town.]

Yeah, two in high school and two in college. A foreign language is a requirement for an English degree. Go figure. [Memorization. Languages. All things she's got down by now, just because of college.] Who knew english majors were basically monster hunters in training.
If I'm so smart, how come you never listen to me? [She's teasing, mostly. Bobby doesn't listen to anyone. She joins him at the table a minute later with both a plate of pancakes for him and a plate for herself.]

.. most of the time. [There's a distinct undercurrent of teasing. They're still finding their footing, getting accustomed to each other, but it's been fairly wonderful. She's an amazing young woman and he absolutely dotes on her when he can.]
Little known hunting secret. You're the English major, Sam is the prelaw student. We take all the brainiacs and give 'em guns.

So what's Dean's excuse? [Her face is completely straight as she takes a bite of her pancakes.]
