"So I can be honest with you about age but you can't be with me about this?" she frowned softly. "You honestly think there's something that would make me run now?"
"Quinn, this is on a whole other level, alright?" He grits his teeth, shifting his weight a little as he debates what to say. "There's a lot that would make you run... or should, anyway."
"Hey," she started when she saw his jaw tense. She stepped forward and brushed her hand up gently along his jaw. "Just because i'm younger that you doesn't mean I am a baby. Just talk to me, Sam."
"Quinn, it's not about being younger." Well, maybe in part, but not the only reason. But she's adamant and fine, maybe she deserves to know. At least then maybe she'll know why he's not the best guy to hang around. "I hunt things, alright? I'm not talking about going to a cabin with some beers and guns and hunting deer or whatever. I hunt things you wouldn't even want to know exist... vampires, werewolves. I've dealt with ghosts too."
A moment passed and she just blinked at him. "That's not funny, Sam. I just asked you to be honest with me." Because honestly his answer sounded like he was teasing just to get her off his case about telling the truth.
"I am. I'm being honest. All those scars? I can tell you exactly how I got them... The ones up my wrists are from where a ghoul decided to make a meal out of me, I have a knife wound in my back where someone stabbed me. So many other ones where I've been flung around like a ragdoll by poltergeists..." He sighed and shrugged. His expression was deadly serious, no hint of teasing.
"I've seen things and done things you wouldn't even want to know about, Quinn."
The scars were the thing she couldn't deny existed. "But you said..." she started, but she shook her head. He never gave any real reasonable explanation for the scars that covered his body. She looked down and took in a slow breath. If he was telling the truth, life just got a lot more interesting.
"What, Quinn?" He fully expected her to think he was insane... probably suffering from some mental illness and he couldn't blame her. She's never seen half the crap he has or done any of the stuff.
"It doesn't just stop with hunting either. I mean... I'm different too."
Hope you don't mind this late?100deaths_a_dayJuly 2 2012, 06:07:44 UTC
[His arms are crossed over in front of his chest, and it's the best effort he's been able to do. However, the best effort is not quite enough to hide the BROKEN emblazed upon it.]
