[Sam hated this. He and Dean had been drawn to Beacon Hills because of the murders and animal attacks, and upon their arrival discovered that it was a handful of teenage werewolves. They were just kids, for Christ's sake. The brothers didn't enjoy killing kids, but someone was hurting people, and it was their job to stop it.
Stiles had been the perfect target. Human- therefore easy to capture- but completely immersed in the supernatural goings on of Beacon Hills. His father was the only main concern. As the sheriff, he couldn't have any reason to believe something was wrong with his son. So upon grabbing the kid, he sent a text to Sheriff Stilinski, telling him not to worry; he'd be home the next morning.
A few hours later found Sam sitting on his bed in the motel room, staring at the chair Stiles had been tied to. He hadn't expected the teen to be unconscious for as long as he was, and he was starting to get worried. Much longer, and the Hunter would have to wake him himself.]
Works for me!notasourwolfJuly 7 2012, 02:17:37 UTC
[ How was it that this was his life? Seriously! First werewolves and then super crazy nutjob alphas, then more werewolves and now Jackson the werelizard. Seriously, how was it he was still completely human? And, you know, alive. That never failed to astound him, really. He thought himself pretty smart and brave most of the time, a lot of the time though he'd rather hole up in his room doing research.
Except this time it wasn't something supernatural. It was some big gigantic ass man who knocked him out outside the starbucks where he'd stopped to get some coffee before heading over to Scott's to cram for their midterm. Which he'll fail now, thanks, unless he's able to get away and study at least a few hours. And he still never got his goddamn coffee! That shit's expensive, you know!
Stiles groaned, head lolling a little as he slowly woke up, wincing as he lifted his head. ]
[The tension drained out of Sam when the teen woke.]
I didn't mean to hurt you.
I just need to talk to you.
[Which he doubted Stiles would be willing to believe, especially after being abducted on a dark street corner by a complete stranger. But it was the truth, and Sam thought it was best to be honest.]
Uh huh, sure. Because that's the best way to get someone to talk to you, knock them right out.
[ He winced a little bit as his eyes adjusted to the light and he shook his head a little. God, he hoped he didn't have a concussion or something. ]
Well, now that I'm alive, thanks for that, really. It's not like I haven't gotten threatened yet today. Was hoping to break a new record. But right, right, you wanted to talk. So, how's the weather? Pretty nice around here for this time of year, if I do say.
[He wasn't above bringing Scott into the conversation if it got Stiles to understand the problem here. There were several werewolves in this town, along with something that he and Dean had never heard of. One of the creatures in Beacon Hills was killing and attacking people, and that was the only one he was interested in. He already knew Scott had nothing to do with it, but if over-exaggerating the threat to his best friend got Stiles in a talking mood, he'd do it.]
How do you even know my name? Are you like, stalking me or something? Cause I'm pretty sure that's against the law or something and in case you haven't heard, my dad's the Sheriff. Yeah, that's right. The po-leese, my padre the police man.
[ For a moment Stiles tried to wriggle out of the ropes holding him still, wincing as the rope rubbed harsh against his wrists. ]
What makes you think I can help you anyway? If you needed help, go to the Sheriff's office. I'm just a teenager. What could you possibly need my help with?
And if you don't help me, Scott could be in a lot of danger.
[Though his brother wasn't heartless by any stretch of the imagination, it was a lot easier for Dean to make the creature = evil equation work than it was for Sam. If Dean had any reason to believe Scott had hurt someone, he would be in genuine danger.]
[ Stiles snapped his mouth shut, complexion paling as his mind raced to figure out what the hell happened. Scott hadn't done anything, he knew that and for the time being Derek and his little wolf pup pack were keeping it low in the wake of Jackson and his scaleyness.
Was that what this was about? The kamina? Shiiiiiiit this guy was a hunter!? Oh god, he was going to die, he was going to die a gruesome grisly death wasn't he? ]
Look, I don't know what you're after, but Scott didn't do anything okay? Don't you guys have some sort of -- of code or something to live by? That's what the Argent's said. And Scott hasn't hurt anyone.
I'm not going to hurt Scott, Stiles. I know he hasn't done anything wrong.
But I need to know who's attacking people in this town.
People are getting hurt, and I need to stop it.
[Sam's got his earnest face on, and not even Dean can deny him when he's wearing this expression. The complete honesty of his words is written out on his face, and he's hoping Stiles will understand where he's coming from.]
I don't know anything, I just know it's not Scott or ... the others, but it's being taken care of, okay? We've got enough crazy as hunters floating around this town trying to take us all out and we don't need anymore.
[ It wasn't a complete lie, of course, there was still a lot about the kamina that none of them knew. ]
The only thing I'm interested in taking out is the creature that's hurting people.
I don't care that there's a pack of werewolves in this town as long as they keep a low profile and keep humans out of their diet.
You have friends here, Stiles. People who could get hurt if this thing doesn't get taken care of.
You could get hurt, and I know you don't want to do that to your father. Not when you're all he has left.
[He knew it was a low blow, but almost the exact same words had worked on him before. He knew what it was like to only have that one family member in his life.]
Oh my god, how much of my life do you know?! Look, it's not -- it's not going to hurt anyone anymore, okay? He doesn't even realize he's hurting people and we're trying to stop it but the other hunters, they're trying to kill all of them. It's a war, man. Or something close to it.
[ Stiles rocked his head back to stare at the ceiling. ]
Let's say, hypothetically, you found out this thing killing people was just another teenager like me, who didn't even know it turned into this thing and was killing people, would you go ahead and kill him? Even though he has no idea he's even done anything wrong? Even though he's just a kid?
I'd prefer to do it without killing him, yes, but if he's as uncontrollable in his turned state as he seems to be, that might not be an option.
[Finding out the creature was another kid tore at his heart. He hated when kids got involved with the supernatural, but sometimes it was unavoidable. He meant it, though. If the teen could be stopped without being killed, Sam would do it in a heartbeat. Enough people had been hurt in Beacon Hills.]
And -- And how are we going to do that? Everyone elses idea is to kill him. I don't see anyone else coming up with ideas on how to stop him.
[ And okay, Jackson may be douchetastic asshole, but he doesn't deserve to die just because he wanted to be a werewolf and turned into something else. Sure, he guy may rough people up a bit, but he'd never kill anyone -- while human, at least. ]
If you can promise, I mean blood oath pinky swear promise that you won't kill him unless it's absolutely necessary... then I'll help you. You don't... seem like the other hunters here.
[Sam's voice was steady and sure. He was going to do everything in his power to make sure the kid came out of this alive. Hunting evil was his job, and Jackson didn't quite fit the bill.]
That's because I'm not.
I learned a long time ago that not human doesn't mean evil. If I can find a way to help him, I will.
