[Without realizing she's doing so she continues holding his hand as she tosses the antiseptic wipe she used into the trash, only letting go when she glances down and sees herself still holding onto him. she frowns at the forced lack of contact but has no idea if he wants anything to do with her.] I shouldn't have left.

[He's still holding a little physical distance, but he meets her eyes with a wry little half-smirk] I would have been a complete asshole if you'd stayed and you know it.

[Darcy lets out a small snort of derision, and finally looks him in the eyes for more then a few seconds, and she toys with the wedding ring on her middle finger, having moved it about a week after their fight, far too hopeful to rid herself of it. She really did miss him.]
Is there anyway we can go back to being us? Or should I finally pack up and take my things? [She's giving him an out, and it is the most obvious thing in the world that she hopes he doesn't take it.]

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this. Life, man. nottheworsthing August 19 2012, 18:38:05 UTC
[His eyes flick down to the ring and back up. His hands are bare, but that's hardly new - wearing rings around the workshop is a good way to lose fingers]

I don't know [Savor it, that's not something he admits very often] I swear I'm trying to not be an asshole. I seriously don't have any answers here.

I know Tony. [ Voice quiet and just a little hesitant, Darcy nods and stops fiddling with the gold band on her finger long enough to put on a less nervous stance. Fidgeting will get her nowhere and she knows it.]
This is a new level of unknown territory for me too. If you still want me...maybe we could start small?

1-6. Going a different route. Clint instead of my Steveo or Johnny. genuinepleasure June 12 2012, 11:51:09 UTC
Clint was used to these types of things going sideways. When things went wrong then you adjusted. You learned to adapt and you took the pain that came with interrogation. You never broke though. No matter the pain or the intimidation. You couldn't let it break you. You couldn't open your mouth to them. That meant they won and Clint was never partial to losing. He preferred to be on top of it all. He wasn't going to lose a step because of a bunch of assholes with guns. Clint could be an asshole with gun if pushed. He just happened to be handier with a bow and arrow due to his past. The Green Berets had put a rifle in his hand though. They thought that was a good idea and for a while it was. It worked. He learned to withstand interrogating from those days. Shield just helped cement his handy talent.

The chairs were rickety and placed back to back. Their hands were bound with rope and their legs tied to the chair legs. If they weren't being watched and they scooted then getting free would be cake. They were being watched though. Watched ( ... )

Well I'm never going to say no to more Clint :D nottheworsthing June 12 2012, 12:21:02 UTC
Now to be fair, Tony was also possessed of truly staggering reserves of stubbornness and enough arrogance to power a small country. He wasn't a fan of losing either. And if maybe the whole tied-to-the-chair thing was verging on flashback-related panic attack territory...well, that was neither here nor there. He flexed his fingers, trying to work some feeling back into them past the uncomfortably tight ropes. The period where numb fingers was the greatest of his concerns was probably to be savored while it lasted. He forced himself to relax, slouching in the seat as best he was able while tied to it, affecting an expression of boredom ( ... )

I figured it was time for you to experience mine. genuinepleasure June 12 2012, 12:33:46 UTC
It wasn't that thought him new or in anyway weak, but he was used to this. Being a prisoner was a kind of a social norm for Clint Barton. Missions like this was not always fun for him. He preferred protection detail or even just being the eye in the sky. It was nice to get your hands dirty every now and again, but these missions always ran the risk of someone getting antsy and taking you prisoner. He really hated being the prisoner. He didn't relish in the idea of being someone's bitch. Then again most people didn't like that unless they were those S&M assholes. Either way Clint didn't think Tony wasn't prepared. Clint just had more experience with torture. He had been on the receiving and giving in. He kind of preferred giving though.

Clint groaned at Tony's protest over being called princess. He jerked in his confines and whipped his head around trying to look at him. "Really? You're tied to me and your biggest concern is me calling you princess? That guy in the corner looks like he wants to eat your balls for breakfast. Be ( ... )

Tony shrugged expressively and gave a smirk. "Hey, I'm used to it," he replied flippantly, "Everyone wants a piece of this." His mouth was running off on autopilot, as it always tended to do when he wasn't actively preventing himself from saying anything stupid. Most higher brain function was currently devoted to assessing the situation. He didn't have any illusions about being able to take on more than one of these guys at a time and survive the experience...but then, if Clint was anything like as freakishly good at unarmed combat as Natasha, he really wouldn't have to.

A second impact shuddered through the rickety chairs. Wave propagation in composites he thought inanely, "You're a dick," he informed Clint in a matter-of-fact tone. The couple of goons that were in his line of sight were looking rather bemused at the bickering. Well hey, anything that kept the bad guys off balance could only be a good thing, right? Lucky he happened to have some natural talent in that direction ( ... )

I don't play him nearly as much as Steve with people for some reason. genuinepleasure June 12 2012, 13:25:17 UTC
Clint is fairly flexible. Being an acrobat has left him with the ability to wiggle free from a lot of situations, but Natasha has this gift. The woman can bend in ways that Clint can only imagine. What was simply and easy for her was incredibly painful for Clint. He was flexible by most standards, but she was ridiculous. She really had a pair of legs on her and he was well aware of how high they could get when she needed them to. It was both terrifying and truly amazing to Clint. It was times like these that he actually found himself reciting the mantra "What would Natasha do?" in his head. He needed a way out of his restraints. A good. A hand. Something that he could properly use to defend himself. Maybe the leg was weak. There was no telling how old these chairs were. Something really had to give ( ... )
