He's probably the father, not the baby-carrier. Or he could be a concerned friend/whatnot. Fairly open if you've got a good cracktastic idea though.

:| Cracktastic is a go and he's over freaking due. And you-know-who can be the father. blueswirly_tie May 26 2012, 21:41:04 UTC
[Oh for the love of Rassilon, why does he have to run into his younger self while he's

this huge.

And miserable.

And can't exactly run away to avoid paradoxes.]

[Normally he hates seeing his future but...wow.

This is a different sort of sneak peak.]

...What?

[Imagine how he feels. He's been carrying the weight around for ages it seems, it's been forever since he'd seen himself so svelte and lithe and frankly sort of weightless oh god he misses those skinny days.

Sigh.

He debates whether he should tell himself outright to avoid the trip to New New Guinea with Rose, or not. Or the fizzy drinks, that was one wild unforgettable night! He can figure it out on his own if he wants to avoid this fate.

Instead, he gives himself a tired smirk, his expression laced with a tiny bit of jealousy as he finds the nearest seat and perches the best he can under the circumstances...]

Y'look good.

[Avoiding the question? Yeeeeep. ]

[Wait--aren't they trying to avoid paradoxes at this point?

Mind that...looks unpleasant.

Not that he's thinking that, because his mind is still spinning and--is he...wait.]

...What?

[he'd be more than happy to completely forget why he had a funny feeling about the trip and avoid everything altogether, but. Timey wimeyness.

Yeah it is; even perched he's trying to find a comfortable position but it's near impossible.

And the look he's giving himself isn't making him feel any more comfortable, so fiiiiiiine he'll help the spinning come to a stop. He huffs a sigh.]

Blimey, I know my vocabulary wasn't all that impressive back when I was you, but this is ridiculous. Yes, we're pregnant, and no, I won't get into detail other than it's Rose's. [He points at his skinny self.] And if your next word is "how" or even "what" again, I swear I'll tell you what things we have to give up because they made us nauseous in the second trimester, and believe me, you won't like it.

[End of the universe and all that. It gets touchy when he overlaps his own timeline.

The heavy silence? That's him struggling not to say what or how. For a wide variety of reasons. Also partly because apparently he's pregnant in the future by Rose. What the what?]

...When?

[Just like he is right now. Touchy.

He knows exactly what his younger self is going through. Just because he told himself not to say those things, he'd want to. It's always very tempting. He waits, getting only minorly impatient while his other self settles on another word to say.

And because he can be just that bit more cryptic, he'll interpret the question as asking about his due date.]

Two weeks ago. [He shifts in his seat and makes a face.] And if I don't have it soon I think I'm going to burst.

[That much he can tell.

And really, teasing yourself? That's rude. He sort of...scowls and winces at the same time, because denied spoilers, but that'll be him.]

Can't we remove it? Two weeks?

[He feels like it, okay? He's had Rose's spawn inside him for nine and a half months and he wants it out. OUT! And back to his skinny self's size! Bah!]

Yes, two weeks, and we can't, it's part of why we--ooh. [He takes in a sharp breath, pausing momentarily to catch it and exhale--a hand goes to his belly before he looks up at himself and grins.] She's kicking!

[Stupid proud and excited parental giggle? Yep, he's doing it. Also, great way to change the subject, even if it's slight!]

[Don't take it out on yourself! He's innocent! Yet, anyway.

Why what? Why can't--ooh! Kicking! He's always wondered what that's like!] She kicks? [He's not really an excited parent but he's...excitedly curious? The things they'll learn, right?] Maybe she's reacting to the knotting timelines? [Because their baby will totally be sensitive to timelines, okay?]

[Yes, kicking! It's weird and amazing at the same time!

The grin continues. Oho the things they'll learn!] Yes, she does. It's exactly that. And a couple of other things, actually--but today's not so bad. She's not kicking as much as she usually does with timeline crossing. [He smiles at his other self. That might mean you could satisfy your curiosity, Doctor!]

[It must be! That's one thing he'll look forward to! Pretty much nothing else at this point, but that!

He considers his other self a few moments, weighing potential paradoxes, before reaching out to touch his other self's stomach. As long as it's establishing a time loop instead of creating a paradox, it should be fine.

Also the time loop should mean more kicking! Right?] What else? Does the time vortex excite her?

[Oh good, 'cause it amuses Rose every time he gets a look on his face when the little one kicks!

Absolutely! The Doctor watches his hand only slightly worried about paradoxes once other!him touches his stomach. When nothing happens other than a gentle series of kicks right where the other Doctor set his hand, he grins widely and replies.] Oh yes, she sort of dances every time we go anywhere. I'd say it's brilliant that she does, but she really loves to play football with my bladder whenever we're anywhere near the '60's. [The 1760's and 1860's, the 1960's, 1260's and 2060's, etc...]

[...Does it? Is that good amused or bad amused? He likes amusing Rose if it's not at his expense. Does it count as his expense?

Annnd! Squee! It's the weird squeaky giggle he never admits to doing, because aww that's adorable! Also, apparently his future daughter. Without experiencing the discomfort himself, he's firmly in the camp of 'this is a good thing' at the moment. Let him have some time to himself before he's horrified at being a father again.]

She's a sixties child? How near? Even the 80s, or just passing by? [Well, they all had their favorite decades, didn't they? Some decades just had something in the air.]

[Of course good amused, and always, always at his expense. But she'll keep it to herself when she can tell he's not having a very pleasant day and won't be cheered by her laughter. She's a good dad in that respect.

He knows that squeaky giggle and still won't admit to it, even though hearing it come from outside his body is a little strange--does he really sound like that? He's glad his other self is camped there because he'd had his doubts a few weeks ago. Being a father had its own troubles when he was younger, but being a mother now? Omega it was taxing in its own way.

He nods.] I think so. Mostly in passing by--But Rose and I stopped in 1962 for an early Rolling Stones concert a few weeks ago and I swear she was doing backflips. I will tell you, the 1980's got her going more than the 1780's. And it wasn't in a good way. [There's always something in the '60's air, though. And the 1980's comment got a hard kick from the baby! He put a hand up on his belly where she'd kicked.] Oof. Maybe best not to talk about that, then. Ouch.
