"I suppose it doesn't matter too much." He didn't look like anyone she knew, from what she could see of him behind his mask. And her name was common enough. "I'm Jo."
"Oh, sorry. New face!" He pointed to himself, still all smiles and excitement. "Same old scientist! I've regenerated a few times since we last met."
But he had grown to be quite fond of this version. "You, you still look the same, Jo! I'm afraid I keep getting taller, though." He couldn't help but to laugh slightly at his pathetic joke.
"I still have it somewhere in the wardrobe!" It probably had collected alot of dust by now, but he had it, just as he had his old scarves and other odds and ends his former selves had. He just couldn't be brought to discard them after such fond memories (and not so fond, but regardless).
But that hug was lovely and he gladly returned it. "So no longer in South America, or are you on holiday? How's Cliff?" He had too many questions and spoke too fast, but he couldn't help his excitement.
"Erm, Jo," His face faltered realizing his mistake and hoping he could cover it up, "The me with the velvet and th'car... Are you still working with me? I mean him. But really it's me."
She did look rather young, but he had a feeling she was the type to age well regardless.
She nodded. "I am." She was tempted to ask what she did in South America, but she knew he wouldn't tell her. But she was excited to go - it was an interesting part of the world.
"I'll try to forget everything you said," she promised, putting a hand on his arm. "Some more punch would probably help." She finished off what was in her glass.
"I won't," she promised, taking her glass. "If I did try and tell you. Him." Talking about multiple Doctors was very confusing. "He'd stop me and tell me he didn't want to know about his future. No one wants to know their future, do they? Except for people who look in crystal balls and study palms."
"Plenty want to know about the future, more than the ones who don't, actually. It's disturbing how many corrupt people are out there." He frowned and took another sip.
"Time Lords know better, though, but even if you did mention you met me, meeting him runs the risk of creating a paradox. So if there's any hint of his arrival, make sure you tell me."
"He doesn't really go to parties. I've had no end of trouble getting him to go to the UNIT Christmas parties." But this Doctor was at a party. "Do you go to many parties?" she wondered.
"Always love a good party!" He was far more sociable than his former self, at least in this generation. It lead to many strange and crazy situations.
The music started playing up again and he held out his hand, "C'mon then, one more dance, then I should probably leave before I tell you something I shouldn't."
She giggled, put her glass down and took his hand. "Maybe you should tell me things that aren't true, then I won't know what's going to happen and what you made up," she suggested as they returned to the dance floor.

"Brilliant! Oh, this is fantastic!" Nothing like attending a party with friends to make things more interesting!

Once she let him go she took her mask off. "I miss the velvet," she admitted. It didn't stop her from being pleased to see him, though.

"Whatever you do, don't tell him you saw me, yeah?" He glanced around worried the Brigadier or even himself would show up.
