I never blamed you.

That is simultaneously vague and reassuring...

There are others my forgiveness will never reach.

But you'll not see it.

What did I do to earn your rare forgiveness, then?

You stood by me when I tried my damnedest to turn you against me.

Those who earn my loyalty are hard pressed to lose it.

So it would seem. I cannot decide whether to thank you or curse you for your persistence.

You have already mocked me for other perceived grievances. It seems that I am unable to see the worst in you, in spite of your actions against the Midgardians.

More fool you, then, for your blindness.

This would be easier if you'd give up, as everyone else has.

Loki. I wish I knew what spurned this change - you've been carrying this burden for a long while, you must have. But why now? Why not seek help? When Drottingr Thrymyr had Mjolnir, did you not help me retrieve it?

There seems to be nothing you can do to have me give up on you. Accept it.

Yes, of course I helped you, I wouldn't do otherwise, but that was... [Before. Before he knew that he and his brother were not brothers at all, but enemies by blood.]

Give me time. I'm not finished yet.

Was what, Loki? What brothers do for one another? Does your true parentage really negate everything our previous camaraderie or the fact that we grew to be men together? I think you are focusing too much on this matter. There are only four people who know the reality of the situation - you, myself, All-Father, and Mother. No one else.

You are still regarded as a Prince of Asgard by all, why do you wish to turn that away?

Time I will give you, but the chance to prove yourself right...

Oh, I see. You would have me simply take up the lie once more. Would that make things easier for you? Shall I once again make things easier for you, as I have always done?

No, it would make it easier for you, brother. But if you wish to be an outcast, be my guest. If you want to be unwelcome on Asgard, as well as Jotunnheim and Midgard, by all means.

If you allow me to stand by you, you may also be able to reveal yourself to the denizens of Asgard and still stand in their favor.

This is a side of you I've rarely seen. When did you learn to be reasonable? [He barely manages to cut off the "brother" before speaking it aloud. It's closer than he'd like.]

I learned many things during my exile that would surprise you, I think. [He smirks briefly.] In a way, I feel as if I should thank you for orchestrating that event.
