[Sometimes you just need a vacation. And sure, New Haven wasn't exactly getting out and living, but Pepper has a lot of family to catch up on. And anyway - time away from Tony Stark is a vacation in itself. So now, several weeks later, he's knocking on Tony's door and letting himself in.]

Tony?

Pepper is just going to have to give Tony a moment. Or ask Jarvis where the man is because the young Stark has been coming up with new designs.

"In the lab." Jarvis pipes in when there's no answer from Tony. He'll alert Tony to Pepper's presence only if the man wants him to.

Of course he's in the lab. Where else would Tony be?

"I'll go let him know I'm here, thank you, Jarvis."

Pepper makes his way downstairs, knocking on the door to the lab because he doesn't want to interrupt.

Eating? Oh wait, he hasn't done that today because he's been down in the lab. The knock, however, throws him off a bit before he turns to see who it is.

Okay, despite the other man's absence he can't help but crack a smile moving over to the door. "Pepper." About time he showed back up. For a moment Tony may of been worried.

"Oh, you remembered my name. We're off to a good start then." He smiles back, because, as nice as it was to get away from things, Pepper misses the hectic lifestyle.

"Did you enjoy yourself then?" he asks with a raised brow. "Or did you just bore yourself silly." His tone holds a bit of amusement to it as he moves enough so Pepper can slip into the lab.

"Yes, I had a great time telling my family everything there is to know about Tony Stark. I think they enjoyed hearing about you more than they enjoyed seeing me."

Pepper steps into the lab, surveying the scene for any signs of how Tony's been taking care of himself.

"So, what have I missed?"

"Oh I'm sure they just loved that."

Though he seriously doubted that Pepper mentioned anything about him. Why should he? As for the lab... it looks kind of 'lived in' which probably goes to say that Tony's not been eating right or sleeping right for that matter.

"Nothing much. Coming up with a few new designs."

Perhaps even color schemes.

"They just ate it up. Speaking of eating up, when was the last time you ate real food that didn't come out of a take-out box?"

What was with Pepper and worrying about whether he ate or not? He got by just fine without him while he was gone. But to answer the question... "Since you left."

Pepper sighs - fondly exasperated - and just shakes his head.

"Honestly, Tony, it's a miracle you know how to dress yourself in the morning. Get cleaned up, I haven't eaten since before my flight and you need some real food."

"Yes, sir," he says giving a mock salute before stretching slightly. "What constitutes as real food to you, Pepper?" Even as he asks he moves through the doors. Not often that he does as he's told but what can he say... he actually missed the guy.

"Anything that isn't deep-fried or dripping in grease. I was thinking sushi myself." He starts picking up around the lab, knowing Tony hates it but the sooner the chaos is picked up, the better.

"Quit trying to straighten my madness, Pepper," he says with a shake of his head. Not that; that's always worked but it was worth a try.

Shaking his head he leaves the man to his own devices while he goes to get cleaned up and dressed.

"Mmhm."

He puts a few things away and tosses out several take-out boxes before heading upstairs. While he waits, he gets his e-mails sent his way and starts looking through them, falling back into Personal Assistant mode.
