"That bad?" She thought on the matter. Remembering the Daleks and their Reality bomb she continued. "Well... my experience is that even if something is a weapon itself, it will build more weapons. For mass destruction."
“Did you ever watch Twilight Zone?” He knew it sounded like a non-sequitur but it wasn’t. “There was a story called To Serve Man and these aliens came down, pretended to cure shit and were our friends. That all they wanted to do was serve man and they had a book that said that. This one chick was trying to translate it and at the end she did. It was a cookbook. They’re serving man was on a plate.” And that was what he thought Dick Roman was going to do. Not eat mankind but lull them into a false sense of security and then blam.
Martha shuddered. "Like the last guy I stopped. Made us all trust him and then turned on us..." She suspected last time had been easier than whatever this would entail. She'd had a perception filter and the archangel network to work with. She still had the perception filter, but she doubted it'd work on these things.
"If we could just figure out what the hell they're up to, no pun intended, we can be a pain in their ass." Not that Dean wasn't already a pain in Dick Roman's ass, but at least he'd know the why.
She bit her lip. "To be honest, I don't know much about non-aliens. At least with aliens, we know they're not supposed to be here and can get them off. I don't know about the Leviathans though. We could try to call the Doctor though, see if he could help. And then take a trip."
"How's his computer? I mean can he hack into anything and find out what's going on?" Because if he could, maybe .... "Wait, Time Lord right? So he'd know the future right? Maybe he'd know what the hell they're up to."
Martha was about to answer his computer question when Dean asked about Time. She giggled a bit and shook her head. "Time doesn't work that way. It's... well... Most of time is flexible. There are really only a few fixed events in time and the rest of it just sort of happens. In fact, you do have to be careful while traveling so you don't terribly affect the timeline. The Leviathans could be eradicated tomorrow and it wouldn't be a problem. Conversely, they might take over the world. But it doesn't..."
She frowned. "Sorry... I don't explain time well... he doesn't either. But it's not linear. That much I know... the computer though... it's worth a shot. Though I think his sonic screwdriver might be more helpful."
Dean actually understood about time not being linear when Cas had tried to explain it to him. Well understood as much as he could, it still made his brain hurt.
"How can his screwdriver find out what Dick is up to?" Not that Dean doubted, he just didn't know how it would work.
"Oh he's not social unless shit's going down." Dean chuckled, "I can respect that. Think it's weird as hell but respect it." Not that Dean was a party person except when it got him in contact with hot chicks.
Martha laughed outright. "When I first met him, he only promised me one trip... which ended up being four. Then he dropped of off at home intending to leave me. Except I was invited to a black tie event that night for a party with something that he determined wasn't right. He hated the tuxedo, but we got to save the world again. As usual."
