I'm sure I was a nightmare. I was the youngest of 5 and my father was an alcoholic. I didn't have a lot of supervision.

I hardly remember - it feels like my childhood happened in a whole other world.

*Thoughts of childhood always lead to thoughts of her mother, and of Daniel. She can't let herself go there with Joe around.*

I loved my father very much, that I do remember.

I grew up in the country. My mother hated it, she always felt it was beneath her. She sacrified everything so that I would have a better life.

*True love had been her sacrifice. The one thing she'd wanted more than anything, her mother had taken from her, leaving a hole in her heart that no amount of revenge could fill. That did not, however, prevent her from trying.*

He was. He passed away a few years ago.
