[He hadn't really been paying attention either, and so the bump comes as a surprise, almost knocking him off balance as well. Blinking down at her, his first thought, rather than being maybe I should help her up is more along the lines of oh fuck that's a lot of hair.
He's gawking for a few seconds longer than is strictly polite before he coughs, finally extending a helping hand.]
No, it was my fault. My apologies... Are you alright?
[So... much hair. He can't even see where it ends, is that even possible? Did someone slip something into his drink...? Did he slip something into his own drink?]
because stoner!Cas in that setting is hilarious... unless you want her in zombieland :P heavenonhighFebruary 18 2012, 22:43:21 UTC
I'm fine, no worries.
[He flashes her a smile. Or rather, he flashes her hair a smile, since he's still staring at it like a creep. He forces himself to look meet her eyes and studies her face for a few seconds before coming to the conclusion that he has no idea who she is.
Or where he is, these don't look like zombie-ravaged woods. But he'll attend to that later.]
[He knows. He knows he's staring in the creepiest way possible but he just can't seem to tear his eyes away for a few seconds at a time. It feels... different, there's something about it...
He may not have enough grace left to do anything of any use at all, but at the very least he can detect... things. Supernatural things. Magic things, like that insanely long, shiny, beautiful hair seems to be. What's causing it? What's the function of it? He has no idea, but it's very, very distracting.]
I can see that... [A pause. Right, she's told him her name, so he should probably get on telling her his. He holds his hand out again.] Cas.
I warned you this would happen. HEY AT LEAST I GOT A *LITTLE* CAUGHT UP FIRST?isaidshhhhFebruary 24 2012, 02:21:11 UTC
[Gabriel's standing in the doorway, looking around Cas' cabin, holding the beads out of his way. He's quietly noting the lack of naked bodies, or people with eager smiles listening to some talk about things that Gabriel honestly probably couldn't have cared less about. He'd heard there was often some new age preface, but, Gabriel thought he could use an orgy about now.]
Did I miss the orgy?
[He lifted an eyebrow, letting the beads drop behind him. He's new, but he looks like just another survivor, not one of the ones Dean sends to Cas to be vetted in the interest of ensuring a lack of any weird mojo. A roughed up dress shirt, a long coat that might have one been black, but that's now stained and ragged around the edges. There's a look to his eyes that's seen horror and war, but there's more to it than that. The oddest thing about him is a slightly beat-up trumpet, but most survivors have something of sentimental value they drag around, even if more often than not, it's a shotgun

Loool no worries, I enabled :B AND YES YOU DID.heavenonhighFebruary 25 2012, 05:25:18 UTC
[Cas is laying back on his bed, staring up at the ceiling and counting the knots in the wood, and if he's maybe a little out of it, it's because it'd been a rough week. A lot of failures, a lot of losses, and the total lack of new or helpful information that's become so common lately. And of course It's getting colder now, which just makes everything seem that much worse.
All signs had pointed to gathering, but honestly it just hadn't appealed to him. It'd been a moody, dreary kind of day, and all he'd really wanted to do was get back to his cabin and lay in bed. Alone, although he wouldn't have turned down maybe one other person for company...
He looks up at the noise, the clacking of beads and a voice he doesn't recognize asking about an orgy. His lips twitch up at the corners.]
Yeah, you did, unfortunately. Give it a few days.
[There's a short pause as he looks the man over, trying to put a name to that face... He feels like it's on the tip of his tongue- he's sure he knows, he just can't place it.]You're new here, right
( ... )
Kinda short but hope it works. Bahaha. Why do they amuse me so?isaidshhhhFebruary 26 2012, 03:57:33 UTC
Pity. Sounded like a great remedy for a day like this.
[He looks decidedly crestfallen at the revelation that he had indeed missed the orgy. He runs a hand idly through black hair that's no longer slicked back and sleek as it had been when he'd been an angel; instead falls rather messily around his ears. Gabriel had been talking to a girl not long before that had made it sound like Cas' orgies were a nearly religious experience. It hadn't sounded like a thing to miss, and she'd coyly urged him to go check out Cas' cabin. Gabriel's hedonistic side had been only too willing to investigate the possibility of such an event.]
Yeah. I'm Gabe. You're... Cas, right?
[Gabriel canted his head to the side as he looked at the man. A certain spark of something almost familiar, but so muted he couldn't quite put his finger on it. An acquaintance? Had they met before in his world? Unfortunately, his memory wasn't quite as searing and sharp and perfect as it had been before. He remembered everything, but mostly in broad strokes; easy to

it works hahaa I love how they're derping out right nowheavenonhighFebruary 27 2012, 01:08:06 UTC
Mm, you'd think, wouldn't you?
[Perfect remedy for a world like this is more like it... Even if at the present moment it's the furthest thing from Cas's mind... Though he'd be pleased to hear the good things being said about him and his orgies-- religious experience indeed, that's what he aims for, after all.
Sitting up, he takes in the man's somewhat disheveled appearance. Messy hair and clothes, no surprise there given the state of the world, and something-- is that a trumpet?- hanging from his belt... Hmm. Strangely familiar though he's pretty sure they've never met.]
Yep. Good to meet you, Gabe.
[He stands up and makes his way over to the door, sticking his hand out because shitty mood or not, he does try to be friendly to newcomers-- doesn't wanna burn any bridges right at the start, you know...]
I apologize for the state of the place...
[By which he means he's sorry there aren't half-naked bodies littering the bed, floor, and any other available surfaces. He imagines it must be something of a let-down.]There's

derp derp derp angel what? I love ittttt <3isaidshhhhFebruary 27 2012, 15:50:12 UTC
No, it's a nice place. I like it. Guess you can't just have one endless Sumerian bacchanal.
[Not the culture typically associated with orgiastic glee, but the Sumers really had known how to throw a party, even if Gabriel hadn't had any appreciation for such things at the time. Of course he'd been disappointed by the lack of sprawled bodies across every available surface, but he's not about to hold it against the man. Afterall, sounded like there would be another one soon enough.
He nods and shakes Cas' hand easily, and if anything that strange feeling intensifies. Something warm and familiar and it's right there and he's missing it. His dark eyes skim over Cas again, trying to figure out what exactly it is, but it's nebulous and easily dismissed as attraction, at least for the moment. Cas was attractive- scruffy, but Gabriel himself was these days- and considering they'd been talking about orgies, even if it was in the lack thereof, and warmth wasn't exactly a surprising sentiment. He'd also never met anyone like him before; it

ahahahah they're ridiculooousheavenonhighFebruary 28 2012, 00:28:05 UTC
If only.
[When their hands meet, that sense of familiarity grows, enough that Cas's eyes narrow slightly as he tries to figure out what it is that's making him feel this way... He still can't place it though, and dismisses it as something to ponder another day, when his mind isn't already racing with should have dones and, perhaps more difficult to grasp, ways in which the current situation could be any worse.
Fuck, he really wishes he hadn't used up the last of his stash at the beginning of the week...]
Not at all. A distraction's just what I needed, actually. Want something to drink? I don't have much, but what I do have you're welcome to.
[His eyes drop to that trumpet and linger there... Strange thing to carry around at the end of the world, though if Cas isn't mistaken, that looks familiar too...]
That's an interesting trumpet. Family heirloom?
[He doesn't know why he guess that of all things, it just... Seems like the right thing to say.]
