General Ross finally made good on his obsession, managing to kidnap Bruce before he hulked out and before anyone knew he was gone.
Now he was missing for a week and everyone was getting understandably concerned. It would have been one thing if he ran away, which some at Shield still thought he did. But to be just gone? He could be anywhere.
Where he was, Bruce didn't know, but it felt strangely like a dungeon. It was dark, smelled like it was constantly wet, and there was the little fact that he was strapped to a table and had blood drawn regularly for testing. They didn't dare trigger an episode and kept him at a constant state of placidness with medications. Bruce would worry if he was capable that he might never get out of here.
...Thor is displeased, suitably! [/places in context like a boss and kicks notifs!]notyet_kingFebruary 10 2012, 16:50:21 UTC
[there was relative calm amongst the others despite being down a man, but it was Thor who voiced his concerns first. They could not just sit idle while anything could be happening to him --]
I will go.. there must be something missed.
[Bruce was smart, and he would have left a clue for them, a sign - something. There could not be just nothing. Thor was sure of it, and so he made his way to the lab... where the abduction seemed to have taken place.
Seemed was the operative word for the Thunder God - for it was too clean-cut. Almost too obvious that something had happened.. and therefore.. it may have been a trick]
/le sigh, dudenotyet_kingFebruary 10 2012, 17:28:23 UTC
[having refused help offered, and scoffed at the dismissive nature of the agents who said he were wasting his time, Thor moved around the broken glass and equipment.. eyes on the flickering screensaver. He had learnt a little of the realm of Midgard's mysterious boxes... and now, he leant over the computer and frowns...
Thinking of his friend - and not knowing what a password was, he tapped a few keys in memory. The faint smile touching his lips as idly, he typed the words of his friend's signature attack...]
[Amazingly, the dark screen clears, unlocking the computer. There's an entry still up, a few windows of different research data behind it. Bruce had been in the middle of typing out his notes.
The last word was telling though, mid-sentence]
"The cells were irradiated for ten minutes at Rosssssssssssssssssssssss....."
[It trails off like that as if he kept his finger on the button.]
[his surprise is brief - he tries not to question the mind of such things if he can help it. Thor frowns darkly at the words... and stands up to send out the call --]
[With that information, the Avengers figure out there's an old decommissioned underwater prison that Ross has access to. If Bruce is anywhere, he's there.
Only access is the shaft and elevator that runs from the top of an old oil tanker in the middle of the ocean down to the ocean floor.]
[it is Thor's kick, powerful and swift, that gets the initial entrance down, Clint's arrows that had incapacitated the guards, and Tony on surveilance - behind, much to his annoyance - who would be alerting them to others...
They waste little time boring down into the depths and Thor, he is ready. If his friend is hurt - he will not be holding back]
[Thor's steps are quick towards him, but cautious. He doesn't touch the equipment as it may alert unnecessary attention Tony is so trying to deflect so they can get Bruce and get out - but what of the others? He feels a pang for these poor... creatures, yes. But his priority... is his friend. He places a firm hand on his bare shoulder] Bruce... comrade, wake. Speak to us.
[Bruce makes an annoyed sound, certain that they've come for more blood] ...not tellin' you anything...
[But when he cracks his eyelids open, that definitely doesn't look like a med tech standing over him. He has to blink a few times before it registers who it is.] .....oh.
My friend! [Thor laughs, pleased at his resistance in the first and pats him firmly] We have come. Tell me - how do I remove these things? We have not much time --
[Nope, he wasn't imagining it. Only Thor could be that loud and jovial during a rescue. Bruce shakes his head, trying to clear the cobwebs and focus.] ....undo the tape...and slide out the IV....it'll probably bleed. [Not that he'll care if Thor just yanks it out. The straps across him are pretty self explanatory but there's an added danger.] Don't undo the straps....hooked up to the room, it'll turn on some sort of gas.... [maybe Thor could just pick him up table and all?]
So. And now, you must not talk again. [he says quietly, nodding as he processes the instructions, moves to carry it out.. The straps, yes, are a problem and he wonders on how to - would Clint's arrows perhaps sear through swift enough not to let it detect? Could he slip Bruce's arms free? They were certainly thin enough...]
[Bruce is a little taken aback by the instructions not to talk but tries to keep to them. He dozes off for a moment or two, his body still trying to process the cocktail of drugs in his system.]

Though anyone that knew him might figure out, it was more ironic than anything: hulksmash

He looks like he's asleep on the table in his cell, an IV running into his arm.]
