Doesn't it just figure the first time they try to save the world without the Doctor, Earth just...explodes? They should...laugh, really. It's hilarious in hindsight, sitting on an escape shuttle.

She should really start...laughing.

... Fire... Air... Sun... Moon... Death...

How had it happened? Martha stared out the window trying to make sense of what had just happened. Martha clutched the hand of the woman next to her. She was dreaming. Dreaming. That was it. Dreaming...

....Maybe they are, because the Earth is supposed to survive. It's supposed to make it to the year five billion intact, so what's it mean for everything she knows and has done if her first trip never happened?

It's better not to think about it, probably. It's best to just...sit and...wait for this to sort itself out again.

If she closes her eyes, will she wake up when she opens them? ... No. But maybe they weren't closed long enough... Still no. A pinch then. Which results in a gasp and a bruise.

But this can't be happening. Martha Jones... savior of the world... now its destroyer.

She glances over briefly when Martha gasps, but she still can't manage any proper words. What's there to say, though? Anything would just...make it worse somehow. Maybe it would make things...maybe they'd have to accept it, and she's not ready for that.

Acceptance of what happened is so far down on Martha's list she can't even contemplate it. Maybe it was an illusion. Some crazy alien had put a curtain over the earth and was waiting for them to be looking before he said, "Here it is!"

One solitary tear made its way down his cheek. She choked back the sobs that were threatening to break the dam.

Maybe they're in some sort of virtual reality just waiting for someone to come wake them up, or they're...in a psychic dream or something?

She doesn't have anything to say. She still doesn't have anything to say. So she just...tightens her grip on the other woman's hand, and rides out whatever patch of turbulence they hit, trying not to think about what's causing it.

Funny how when something this big happens, one loses all power of speech. Martha gripped the other woman's hand though she thought about her family. They'd made it out of the paradox just fine. Made it through the Dalek invasion, the Miracle. But this... this had done it.

Martha thought of stories. Of people who went catatonic after a massive trauma. She'd never taken much stock in those stories because she'd survived the biggest trauma she could think of and came out of it able to talk and laugh sometimes. It turns out the trauma wasn't big enough.

OOC: Do we want to keep going with this or should we bring speech in soon? Or just fade?
