THE (EXPANDED) CAPTIVITY MEME
[Also on DreamWidth]You've been captured - or maybe you've been held captive for a while now. Whatever the case, you've lost your freedom, and there's a specific person responsible for that. You might be a prisoner, a mental patient, a kidnap victim, or someone's pet. Maybe you're there willingly, or maybe the ( Read more... )

idek, star trek crossover? cptn_pike January 15 2012, 11:53:47 UTC
Pike strode into the room, giving the lieutenant a nod to lower the force field. He wanted to talk to the prisoner he had in the brig. He steps in and the force field goes up again. "Who are you and how did you get on board this vessel?" No beating around the bush for the Captain, he wants answers.

Absolutely! sixthanimorph January 15 2012, 12:09:07 UTC
David's sitting on the bunk, head bowed, mind inwardly racing through escape scenarios, one after another. What good is it to turn into a bug when the exit is an impregnable force field? Then movement outside the field catches his attention and he lifts his head. Someone's coming in, someone in a different uniform from the others. What does that mean? He's not sure. He's here for his own reasons, but he didn't really go in with a lot of intel.

"Who, me?" he asks with a faint smirk. "I'm no one. I'm just a guy from the last planet who got lost."

It's not a terribly convincing lie, but then, David's not trying to be convincing.

"Uh huh," Pike wasn't buying it. "So you're telling me you either grabbed onto one of my crew that was dematerializing and got up to this ship without anyone noticing...which is near impossible considering the filters would have discovered you before you rematerialized....or you stowed away in a shuttlecraft and happened to be "lost" in there till it docked and you found yourself on board."

"Maybe that's not too far from the truth." David's still not being anything close to forthright, because if they don't know about his secret weapon, he's certainly not going to tell them. It's not like they caught him morphing or anything - they'd just caught him as himself, in a room he definitely had no access too, looking for something. "Or maybe I just got in a way you don't know about. Maybe this ship's not as hard to get into as you think it is."

Pike leans over, glaring in David's personal space. "Maybe you'd like to spend the rest of the trip in the brig? Because I am this close to deciding on leaving you here and not turning around to put your sorry backside back on the planet you came from." They had scanned him of course, but he had come back as humanoid. Not that they were looking for anything else. "Why are you here?"

David's smirk twists into a scowl and he glares up at the guy, some kind of officer he's guessing. The threat gets his attention but not in the way it was meant to - he's very much not interested in getting stranded back on that miserable alien world he was on before he snuck on board. "I'm just here sightseeing," he deadpans. "Figured I'd get back into space and meet new and interesting people."

"Sneaking onto a Federation Starship is not the way to do it. As Captain, I should have you arrested and held for questioning concerning sabotage." Pike lets out a frustrated breath through his nose. What was he going to do with this kid? "I could dump you on the first transport ship going by, no questions asked." That would sure accomplish his goal of meeting interesting people. Might also get him into more trouble, depending on who he met up with.

"You're the Captain?" Well, so much for bullshitting his way through this. The threat David's got hanging over him suddenly got a lot more real.

He's a little surprised that the kid didn't know from his uniform. "Yes, I am. Captain Christopher Pike. You're on the USS Enterprise." He gives David a scrutinizing look. "You really didn't know that, did you?"

"No," David admits, and it's probably the first straight answer he's given him so far. "I didn't really get a lot of time to read the brochure. You docked your ship, and I got on board before you left."

going with they docked at a space station above a planet cptn_pike January 15 2012, 12:47:39 UTC
"You even know what the Federation is?" How about an easier question. "What planet did we just leave?" Pike crosses his arms with a look that says, you're faking your way through this, aren't you?

sounds good to me sixthanimorph January 15 2012, 12:53:12 UTC
Well. That wasn't a question he wanted to hear. Better for the Captain to think he was from the planet, going back to the last one they were on would be more trouble than it's worth. Going back to the station? Cake. And the piercing look the Captain's giving him, like he knows exactly what's going through his head, really isn't helping either. "Ah... Slegabb Five?"

and since I know very little about your canon, feel free to add anything in you want :) cptn_pike January 15 2012, 12:55:46 UTC
It's a gift really. Pike is always asking questions that people don't want asked. "That's the name of the station. I was asking about the planet."

setting this post-canon for him, figure he's here trying to get 'his' blue box back. sixthanimorph January 15 2012, 13:04:08 UTC
Damn it. He had to give the Captain the station name, now he's sure to know. So to buy himself some time, he decides to give him the truth - or at least a piece of it. "I wouldn't know, I wasn't there very long."

[OOC: Pike's in charge, so I leave it your call how the Enterprise got the blue box or if Pike knows about it/connects it to his prisoner yet.]

"Where are you from then? If not there?" Level with Pike and he might be able to help you.

[ooc: could be an ensign bought it at an open market, not knowing what it was. can it effect anyone even if it's David's? or is it inert after being used once?]

"Somewhere pretty far away. You probably haven't heard of it." Oh, if Pike's willing to give him a ride home he won't turn it down - but there's something here he wants first.

[OOC: Oh, no, it can be used without limit. Originally it needed another morpher to make it effect someone, but later books had it work for anyone. I'm game for either interpretation.]
