[Giggle.

Giggle giggle giggle.

She's not... really sure who's couch this is. Or... who exactly this guy is sitting beside her on it.

Which was... hilarious.]

H-hey.

[Is someone saying something? He thinks so, but then again, he might just be making shit up. Blinking slowly, he considers his options. He could turn his head, so much effort, or he could just sit quietly and act like he hadn't heard... He's pretty sure he did, though, and so just in case...]

Huh?

[He does manage to get his head to move, and there is actually someone sitting next to him. That's right, he does recall seeing her sit down... Cute blonde, good thing he turned his head. He grins wide.]

Hello.

Haha bracing for the amazing. <3 huffpuffblonde December 9 2011, 21:19:55 UTC
[He totally heard her. Probably. Wait-- did she actually say anything? Oh man, she totally said something, right? Or maybe she just imagined it, but she's pretty sure she remembers moving her mouth. Because that felt weird. Also, biting down on her lip. That felt weird, too. She should stop biting down on her lip.

Wait. What?

Oh, right, yeah, he's totally sitting beside her, and she was going to ask him a question. She grins back, giving a little wave.]

Hullo.

[A question. Right, totally going to ask a question.]

Who... are you?

[He dissolves into a fit of silent giggles, shoulders shaking and all. What exactly is so funny he can't be sure, but he thinks it might have something to do with the inflection of the question- she'd sounded like the caterpillar from that trippy-ass movie he'd watched with Dean way back when minus the hookah and the too-many legs.

She definitely doesn't look like a caterpillar though, far from it in fact. He manages to contain the giggles and peers into her face.

She looks... Like she's waiting for him to answer. What was the question? Hmm, it's a safe bet she asked for his name, he'll go with that.]

Castiel. [Fuck, he hates it when that happens.] Cas.

[He blinks. He doesn't recognize her.]

I don't think we've met before.

[He means to extend his hand but doesn't.]

[Is he laughing at her? Did she say something funny? She probably did. Either way, he looked silly, laughing like that, and it made her laugh, too. Just a tiny, shoulder-jerking thing, her tongue poking out of the side of her mouth.

Eventually, it calmed down, though, and she remembered her question. And apparently that guy could read minds, because he remembered it, too.]

Cas...tiel? Cas-tee-ell. Cas-teel. [She tilted her head to look at the ceiling, rolling her tongue over the word. Finally, after a second, she shook her head.] Nope. Dunno any Cassssstiels.

Is that really your name? That's just... like.... a really brilliant name, did you know that? You probably did.

[She should... probably say her name back. Maybe. She glanced over at him again.]

Rose. [That'd probably do. She should probably shake his hand, but her arms are rather comfortably at her sides.]

[He's giggling quietly through his nose as she tries to pronounce his name. His full name, which he'd given her. Shit, he hates when that happens. He thinks about trying to correct her, but there's no need, that isn't his name anymore anyway so it's not even an issue.]

Cas. Just Cas is fine.

[He grins. "Brilliant" is a new one. Usually he gets strange, or "is that short for something?" ...But he's just told her what it's short for so.

Oh. And now she's telling him her name, which is...]

Rose. Hello, Rose.

[He grins again. She did say Rose, didn't she?]

[Damn, what is it people usually did after they meet other people? Oh, right. Riiiight, right, right right. Shaking hands.

She struggles for a second, aw come on, how- and then tugs out a hand, holding it out to him.]

Hello, Cas.

[She returns, grinning. That's a cool name. She should get her name shortened. To something cool. Like... Ros. Or Ro. Or just.... R.

She should say that out loud, see what he thinks. He's, like, the boss of short names, right?]

I should... get my name shortened. To something cool. Like Ros. Or Ro. Or just.... R. Is that cool? Are you... like... the judge on cool short names? Like, think about it, if they're Scottish, or Hispanic, it'd be... Rrrrrrrrrrr.

[He stares at her hand, grinning stupidly for a few seconds before forcing his arm up and gripping it lightly, a gentle shake and hmm, her hand is warm, maybe he'll just... Hold on for a bit. She won't mind, right?

Surely not. Unless she does. He pulls his hand away, wondering if he'd held on for too long.

Ros? Ros could be cute. Like a nickname?]

Like a nickname? I dunno 'rrrr' [and he tries and fails at rolling it properly] might be a little hard to pronounce. I'd stick with Rose, I think. Or maybe Ro. [A pause.] I'm not an expert though. I just.. like it.

[Yeah.]

[She doesn't really notice the hand holding. Until she does. But then it's already gone, and she tilts her head to the side as she ponders it. What is it with her and holding people's hands? She does that a lot. Is that weird. Is she weird? She's probably weird.

Oh, wait wait. Wait. Nicknames. Right.]

Naw, you're right. Rrrr is rubbish. Ro, though? That's just... that's a brilliant idea. You can call me that. Ro. Ro. Actually. I dunno. Nobody else is allowed to, because that's a bit horrible. Ro. Like... row, row, row your boat? Why are nicknames so bloody hard?

[A pause.]

Okay. Here's the plan. You be Cas, and I'll be Ro, and we should go... get chips. And eat them.

[Boats are nice. Slow. Dangerous, because he can't swim and so he probably shouldn't go on them. Learned that the hard way.]

Boats are nice. 'Ro' is nice too, I think you should stick with that.

[There's a pause that seems to last for hours, while Cas tries to work out if she's asked him something that he just can't for the life of him remember... But then she's talking again, and he listens intently, squinting and tilting his head to the side in that way that he can't seem to shake. Talking about chips.]

What?

[Right, chips. Chips are good.]

We should go get some.

[But he doesn't move.]

[She's pretty sure they were having a conversation, but she can't really... remember what it is, because her brain is on chips, and the different types of chips. And eating chips. And if she squints her eyes, she can almost taste chips.

Chips are really, really good.]

I think I want chips more than I've wanted anything in my whole entire life.

[...giggle. That was melodramatic, wasn't it? They should get up, and go somewhere that has chips, and order chips, and eat them.

But then the people that they're ordering chips from will know they're high. She doesn't want to do that.

Her eyes widen, and she flips around to face him.]

We could order chips. Like. Take-away. And have them delivered. And then we wouldn't have to go anywhere!

[So much excitement in that right there, Cas. Just. So much excitement.]

[Fuck but chips sound like the best, the most divine, the most perfect idea ever. But where...]

I... Don't think we have any. We'd have to go somewhere else.

[He's considering standing but it just seems like so much effort, too much effort even for chips, as amazing as they sound. Lifting his hand up from where it'd been comfortably resting on his thigh, he wiggles his fingers, or tries to, anyway. He's getting the feeling driving is out of the question.

Also, it's the apocalypse. Not looking too good on the chip front, right now...

But ordering them? That could work!]

Wait. But. I think the croates ate the delivery guy.

[He frowns. He's pretty sure they did. Fuck the end of the world, can't even get chips delivered. Because that happens, chips-on-demand. He dissolves into giggles again and leans his head against the couch. If only...]

[That look on her face? That would be her world shattering. That grin that slowly turns into her mouth dropping open.

Don't... have any... would have to...]

Oh my god.

Mate.

America sucks. America is just like... it's like the worst. Everybody's dying all the time, and you can't have chips delivered. What sort of rubbish nonsense country is this?

[And she collapses back against the couch, disheartened and deflated, shoulder-to-shoulder with him, looking just... just pathetically sad.

Fuck America, bro. Just. What even. The apocalypse could just... go away.]

[His face does some sort of weird twitchy thing as he tries to school his features into something vaguely resembling sympathy. He knows. Oh God does he know how horrible it is.]

It's not even just... This place. It all blows. Everywhere... Everywhere sucks.

[He doesn't even remember what they're talking about, but his point still stands: Everything sucks He leans into her shoulder, and it's meant to be comforting but he feels heavy all over and so it's probably more like a slump.]

Humanity is miserable.

[She knows. She totally knows. She's been all over two different universes, watching people killing people and aliens killing aliens and aliens killing people and people killing aliens. People sell other people out for money, or just, or for fun. Everyone always trying to take something over, and for what? They just burn it all down in the process, and then before you know it, that little rock called Earth you were fighting over is just a big flaming ball of rock and ass and... suck.

She frowned, shifting closer, and rests her head on his shoulder. Not that they were tight like that, having just met, but it seemed like a rather good idea at the time, and she's a bit fluffy by nature.]

Oi, now, don't... don't be like that. Really easy to get caught up in all the... bad, but there's still loads of good. Just... the thing is... you've gotta find something worth fighting for.
