Don't mind River. She had let herself in last night and had planned on having a much-needed drink before she went to bed. Unfortunately, she had never quite made it to bed and had fallen asleep right there at the kitchen table. The unused mug was still on the counter, a teabag sat waiting to be soaked with hot water.
With her cheek pressed to the table and an arm hung by her side, she'd never looked so attractive.
River grunted quietly, a sound that backfired because she began to cough as her breathing got confused about which way it was supposed to be going. She opened her eyes blearily, realising it was daylight. She grimaced under the sunlight, her eyes focusing as she tried to work out where she was and why she was laid so awkwardly.
Methos laughed, leaning down so she was at eye level, "Have a nice rest? I'm afraid I'm going to have to eat my breakfast off your bed... so if you could get up?"
River jumped slightly when Methos leant down to look at her. She shot up into a sitting position, her wild hair almost double its normal size thanks to the way she had slept all night.
"Methos?" she said, trying not to slur too much as she woke up bit by bit. "Sorry, I think I just.. Sorry."
"Breakfast," River repeated to herself, running a hand over her face as she tried to wake herself up some more. Eventually, her hand dropped and she smiled. "Yeah, that sounds great, honey."
River sat back in her seat, the movement causing her gun belt to rattle slightly. Ah, perhaps that explained it. "You try finding a bed after spending three weeks in the Battle of Zaruthstra."
"Hm," she sounded, running a hand over her eyes once more. "I'm going to have to borrow your bathroom. I'll be quick, fifteen minutes tops," she said, not wanting to miss breakfast.

Smiling, he reached out and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

He stirred up the eggs and omelet ingredients, then started to plate them, "Breakfast is ready!" he called out for her.
