She's not really noticing, yet, with her feet propped up on the arm of the couch, snuggled down into it, flipping through a magazine.

That's fine, he's still just watching for now. Rose Tyler. Pretty, clever, cute Rose Tyler. He loved her once. He loved her more than anything.

How much good did that do him? Nothing.

She flips a page, and runs a hand through her hair, tilting her head off to one side as she reads. She blinks rather suddenly, as though feeling his eyes, and looks up from her magazine to shoot him a smile.

"Hullo."

He's leaning against the doorway, arms crossed and expression neutral. At her smile he...only smiles after a moment. "Hello, Rose."

"What's up? You look a bit... mopey." She dropped the magazine, folding it and resting it on her stomach.

"Do I?" He blinks and glances up at the ceiling a moment, as if thoughtful. "No...not moping. Reflective. When did we last see your mother?" He's sure of when he is, but it's best to be sure anyway.

She tilted her head as she thought. "I dunno, it's been about three weeks, I think, hasn't it?"

"Three weeks...think she's gotten over the taco thing then?"

She grinned widely. "I'd give it another, just to be on the safe side."

He nods and smiles. The usual cheer is...there, but it's tinny, replicated like the smile of plastic Mickey. "Tell me, did we have plans today?"

She doesn't really notice anything off, not really, but then again, she's not looking for anything. "Not off the top of my head, why, am I forgettin' something?"

Well, she didn't notice when her boyfriend had painted on eyebrows did she? So it's no surprise. He shrugs. "No reason. Get up and come over here, will you?"

"Sure, yeah," She hopped up, tossing her magazine to the side and throwing her legs over the couch. She strode over, hooping her fingers through her belt loops. "What's up?"

He watches her from where she stands, scanning her outfit and form as she walks. She changes her tastes later. She changes her hair and that obnoxious make up, too. Eventually she'll lose the earrings and that innocent gleam in her eyes. The woman standing in front of him dies and another Rose takes her place one day. She'll die in a few days, in fact, when they stop by to give her mother a peace offering.

She might as well already be dead, and compassion is wasted on the dead. "You're going to come with me somewhere. You won't ask questions about it, but you're allowed to find it strange."
