I'm awed

I'm so happy. I'm so relieved.

Now I have to go and watch the next president give his victory speech.

:-)

ETA: What a speech! Invoking Lincoln and Martin Luther King. I'm shaking.

Right there with you - this is a day that I never thought I would live to see. Going from the riots that I experienced in ELA - to the killing of Rueben Salazar, the '68 Demo Convention, Bobby Seale being bound and gagged in an American Court, through the Civil Right Marches in the deep South - I can't believe that Obama is now our President.

Unfortunately, this morning I heard on one of the news channels "callers" start talking about how the USA is now in the hands of "the racial groups" - not the true White Americans.

We all know that this is just one more step, BUT A HUGE STEP, onto our way to real justice, peace, and respect for all peoples and life on this planet - but I am having a great feeling of Joy and Hope that eventually we will reach that "Mountain Top" and then shoot out into the Sky. And this feeling and hope is exactly why I loved Spike so totally - he is the symbol of what we could become if we can only transcend our inner beast that lives inside all of us.
