If someone calls you after 10.30pm on a weeknight, unless you are on regular talking terms (at least twice a week) or it's an absolute emergency, would that not be considered tres abominable?

A huge Victorian country house situated in the middle of nowhere, facing a shimmering Lake No-One-Will-Drive-This-Far, surrounded by pine trees, with the backdrop of a range of mountains with snowy tops. Cool, crisp air. A tree with a tyre swing. Acres of land for two dogs -golden retrievers, Kazuki and Aki.

It's true, what they say about gorgeous men, who, at the same time, are excellent listeners and conversationalists, fun and spontaneous, considerate and courteous.

They are all gay.

Steve Irwin died today.

My memory of him consists of the word, "Crikey," and the whole dangling-baby-in-front-of-crocodile shenanigan. I have never seen even one of his shows.

But he just died. And they wouldn't stop showing his face on the news.

I wish they would.
