they gave me a choice of doing it awake with locals or going completely under. I chose awake. partly to save 500 dollars on the anesthesia...

Yeah. it's full of suck.

It's going to mean a lot of pain, distraction and painkillers in my future. That will make for exciting roleplay. :P
