I'm glad you liked this and thanx for your kind words. I tend to read more of the angsty darker D/Hr fics because that's how I often envisage the problems of their relationships, but I suppose I also like a good incorporation of fluff and romance when it is well written.
I hope that you've been doing alright and that things are going better for you :)
So I decided to goof off at work and read your fic. :D I love reading a dialogue heavy fic once in a while.
What I liked was definitely the desperation Hermione feels. It's frustrating for her to love and be rejected by a man who feels the same for her. (GOD, that's the most awful feeling in the world.)
However I thought the arguments Draco gave to Hermione were kinda weak. It seems like they were just arguing in circles (perhaps this was the plan?). I was also not really buying Draco's 'emotionless' state. His dialogue sounded desperate too.
Anyway keep writing. I'll read anything that won't get me in trouble at work!
I'm glad my little ficlet who keep you entertained for a few minutes at work :) I really need to get back into writing but it's just. so. hard. to. do. and why do I have so many full stops? :P
I think this is more like a scene from a longer fic I had/have in mind, but couldn't write out yet so maybe it feels relatively incomplete. Draco's and Hermione's arguments probably go in circle because I tend to think like that when I'm very emotional or in a fight, so that's probably more a reflection of my mental state (which does not look that healthy currently..:P) And you're right, Draco doesn't look emotionless - what I'd probably meant was that he tried to look cold and emotionless as he left here.
I think I sort of left the ficlet off where I did, because it does still leave room for a sequel or a development of the idea, or if I want to do something more with it! We'll see!
Dude sometimes at work... I just get so damn bored. It's obviously because I'm too good at my job. *snicker*
But things in LA? Hot now. I don't like hot weather. But what can I do. Work, as you can tell, bores me to death. And I wish I didn't have censorship on my computer because I can't read fics with lots of swearing. (I have managed to read NC-17 stuff provided they're written without 'bad words'.)
what I'd probably meant was that he tried to look cold and emotionless as he left here
Yeah that's more probable. I think Draco would be just as angry and frustrated as Hermione, because he thinks that he's making a decision that's not his.
Actually I kinda like short, abrupt fics. I like how the reader is just thrown in and has to connect the pieces together. I think you could totally leave the fic as is. :)
Hey, great story!fallan_ang3lMarch 31 2005, 05:52:37 UTC
I just wanted to say what a great story this was. It was very sweet yet sad. Good angst fic! This is my first time posting on lj and wondering if I could befriend you? lol! If you don't mind! I've read your works on ff.net and I absolutely love your fics. I'm a big D/Hr shipper, just never got the chance to show it or post comments on lj due to my crappy net. lol! Anyway, I only wanted to let you know what I thought of your lovely story!
Thanks for your review. By all means, please friend me. I'm only happy to get to know a new D/Hr friend :) Wow...you've read my works since the ff.net days? It's been so long! I really need to start posting up more stuffs up again so hopefully I'll start writing some more! Thanks a lot!
yay! And yes I've read your works since the ff.net days! Your story, "Eight Nights of Awakenings", was the FIRST ever fic I every truly fell in love with. I still love it now and I could read it over and over again! I was so happy to stumble across your lj (don't know how it happened but who cares! lol). I read on your lj that, that story was the first ever D/Hr story you wrote and hot damn is it brilliant! (You got to admit it *poke*) *sighs* I love your works =D
Today, realizing you had actually posted one of your stories, couldn’t help myself - I squealed with delight and anticipation… First of all: THANK YOU! I have really missed your exceptional talent. Second: You claim you haven’t been doing much writing lately … However, that did not stop you from evolving as a writer. Thank God!!! Made me even happier :)
On the story itself: think it would work better as a scene in something longer… From what I understand, that’s what you were planning to do in the first place… But got restless..:) Let’s hope it happens more often from now on… Your muse is where she belongs, make her stay! I’m hoping this will indicate a next step for you… And maybe even give me a push of my own. Thanks again! Nastya
P.S. Still waiting for your e-mail… ;P
P.P.S. By the way, I read your Survey meme (or whatever it’s called)... I was in a mild form of shock for at least five minutes… Sushi and film directing, you say? Damn. A bit surreal… N.
I wanted to know if you received my e-mail... I got some kind of strange message about it being delayed... Anyway, if you didn't get it, I'll post it here or send it to another address. :)
Hi!! You're back!!!

Dear Ra,
Glad to hear you had a good time in London. It's really wonderful to be able to read one of your fics again after such a long time. I have been waiting patiently for almost a year now. But I understand that you have been busy. Keep up the good work. :)
I really like your style of writing and how you write Draco/Hermione. The angst is just so real and I can see the situations really happening if they were together. I think this ficlet would work in a big story but it is fine as it is, so up to you.
Hope that this year is a much better year for you. And that you will get many ideas for D/Hr fanfics!!!!

Hi Nikki
So sorry for taking *ages* in getting back to u :) If u read the latest update, RL has been quite crap again :( Thanks for reviewing, I *really* want to get back to writing fics again, but for some reasons, I don't write as fast as I used to...hopefully this is a trade off for better quality :P Don't forget to check my new post, there'll be a bit of a surprise :D
