Wow, lots of srs bzns in this post! I'm sorry you have a delay in your thesis defense... I really hope you can make it in the first two weeks of the term! Is the extra fee for defending your thesis later on big ( ... )

The next term won't start until the last week of May, and only the analysis part is missing so I'm quite confident I can make it by then.

Each thesis term costs at least PHP15000 (a little less than USD350), and if I am to defend I have to pay an additional PHP5000 (roughly USD115). For this term, I paid for everything since my former employer already shouldered the maximum number of school terms for my scholarship. I can't afford to pay for another term since I'm already broke. And I can't really ask my parents for money, either since it's my fault why I'm not yet done.

I had to change topics thrice before landing on this one. It wasn't an easy ride at all, but at least I'm happy with this one. :)

I'm planning on teaching only for the short term, especially since full-time professors in our university are required to be involved in serious research. Inasmuch as I like my thesis topic, researching is not for me. That much I figured out after taking classes in the graduate level.

Ah, so you have time yet to really bring everything together, I'm glad ^_^ I really hope it all works out without needing the extra payment.

And well, it's good that you didn't give in. Much better to work harder and achieve something you want, than take the easy way out and have experience under your belt that is of no use or interest to you.

About teaching: I'm glad you have the option to only do short-term then! I don't know how much that experience can compare to a primary school teaching experience, but it's something to think about.
