HOLY CRAP: RELIGIOUS DISCUSSION TIME

Aug 24, 2011 13:11

They were arguing about religion, since my mom is a pretty devoted Christian while he’s Agnostic.

Anyway, he was saying how the world is too fucked up to actually have a God. He would have done something, He would have fixed it. (so he didn’t curse or anything, that was just me, lol, and they were arguing in spanish)

My mom says that you can’t expect ( Read more... )

too much imagination, my god, religion

This was pretty interesting to read! I wonder how odd it must be for you mother, being in a relationship with someone who flat-out says that there is no God. Not that a relationship should even be remotely based on things such as that, but I digress.
Ehhhh, I think Agnostic isn't the Wimpy Way of Atheism. To me, identifying as Agnostic means that, I just don't care, and that I don't necessarily need some sort of belief for an afterlife, or anything like it, to get me through my life right now. I mean, there are a couple of Christians who use God as an excuse of some sorts, they use the idea of God as something of a crutch, and then there are some who use it comfort, simply have been taught there is a God - there's really a wide Spectrum of ideas of God and why peoples of any religion would need him. But I just don't think I, personally, need a God. I am accountable for myself.

...you read this? oh my god -clings- let me love you

But yes, its a bit hard for her. But he doesn't flat out believe there is no God. He's Agnostic; no proof against it, no proof for it.

....Are you me. Omg, this is exactly what I believe. When my mom bothers me about it, I just think that I will not believe in God unless I find him. I will not lie and say I believe in him when I don't. I don't think I need God in my life, right now. Maybe not ever.

And I think that's a good thing really. My life is wonderful enough where I don't need the spiritual support of some being. Maybe eventually I'll go through some hard times and I'll need that kind of support.

Right now, I don't though. I think my mom has a hard time understanding this, lol

I still love you for actually taking the time to read my rant =w=

lolol, I agree. Religious views are always fun to read about, unless its those, 'MY GOD IS SUPERIOR YOU WILL ALL DIE UNLESS YOU FOLLOW HIM HOMOSEXUALS WILL BURN' views. I hold no tolerance for that kind of crap :/

*Points to your post* See that? I wish my mom could read it. Right there you almost made me- a strict Atheist- Agnostic. Even more, nearly believing in your God. Your God I would tolerate- even be friends with. The other "Gods"... Too many inconsistencies. Far too many.
