Burlesque. Burlesque is going on. I just wrapped up my second semester of a 101 class last night. We did a fun boa routine to the Flying Lizards version of Money (That's What I Want), which I mostly know from this scene in Empire Records (apart from more widely known Beatles version, of course):

I am getting there, but still very, very timid. I figure at some point, the Morwen persona is just going to burst forth and tell me who she is. And I have a feeling she's a lot different than my timid default self. ;)

But thanks, I am having lots of fun with it! My instructor stressed that when we did our final run throughs of our routine in pairs the other night. That above all else, have fun with it. You're going to miss moves and you're going to forget steps, but as long as you have fun and make it look like that's what you intended, you're golden. No one pays to go to a burlesque show hoping for a bad performance. They're all rooting for you to do well and they want to see you enjoying every minute of it.
