I haven't been talking about it much this year like I have in years past. I've not kept running numbers on LJ because it's all up at MapMyRun now and I don't have to keep up with it myself. But for the first time, I'm making huge progress on losing weight. Like more than losing and gaining the same 10 or 15 pounds like I was for the first three ( Read more... )

That's awesome! Congrats! We've been trying to be better about what we eat and getting enough exercise too - well, exercise isn't a problem for Doug, but I'm so limited in what I can do, that it's a problem for me. But we've kept up with our walking and we bought a newer exercise bike. So I feel positive about that!

Thanks! Joining a CSA this summer was very helpful, too. We had so many vegetables we didn't want to waste, we were eating really well. The cycling will be a really good, low impact thing, I bet! I have a friend who can't run more than 5k distances because of knee and ankle injuries, but he bikes a lot and loves it. And for what it's worth, I think you both look great, so your efforts are obviously paying off. :)

I've been trying to do more vegetables too, so hopefully that is helping.

The bike actually bothers one of my knees a little, so I've been trying to do it on really low resistance, but hopefully it will be ok this winter. It's always so hard to get exercise in the winter, and what with all the holiday eating.... My goal is to just not gain back the 15 or so pounds I lost since the spring! ;-)
