It wasn't that bad-- just enough to wake me up and at that point there was no use in going back to sleep.

Put some of the pills in another bottle as a backup supply.

Sadly we would use all the backup and still not go to buy more.

Oh, that's easy. Last thing before bed, check the bottle. If its down to just a few pills, chug them down. That way you'll almost always run out around 9:00 pm or 10:00 pm or whatever.
