Wow. That's some story. Talk about stubborn mom. I am sorry to hear she pushed you so hard for so long. And glad that you, somehow, sorted it out between you.

She pushed me with good intentions, but she still pushed me more than I needed. I'm so glad we've sorted it out!! :D

I think doctors aren't the only heroes. There's so, so much to be said for that connection that patients can get with therapists, the hands-on professionals who work with them through every appointment. It seems to me that you guys would know more about the patient than the doc who blasts in and out of the ward or appointment room with barely any contact. It's unfortunate that you don't get the monetary and social compensation that the doctors do, and I wonder if that's some of what your mom wanted for you. I'm glad it finally struck home for her what your work means to you and what it means to the people you work with. Sometimes moms are stubborn, too. lol >_> (I love hearing about your work, btw)

I think my mom did want that for me. Heck, I'd appreciate a 6-figure salary, too! I'm so glad she understands me better, because I have such a passion for what I do and it hurt that she didn't support it 100%.

I've inherited my stubbornness from her, totally. XD
